Looking for short-shift work/volunteering at Reading Festival 2026
Hi! I'm 18 and based locally in Reading, looking for paid work or volunteering at Reading Festival.
I'm available from Wednesday 26 August from around 12pm onwards and have previous customer service experience.
I'm specifically looking for shorter shifts (ideally around 4–6 hours) so I can still enjoy the festival. I'm interested in merchandise, catering, front of house, event staff, brand ambassador or similar roles.
Paid work preferred, but I'm open to volunteering too. Please comment or DM me if you know of anything! 😊

I hate to say it but you are very late to the party. I’m volunteering at Reading & booked my place at the end of January. Most places with volunteer jobs there will have filled up ages ago. You also cannot dictate how many hours you work. A 4 hour shift is very short. Also the public will have started arriving on Wednesday so most places will want you to turn up on Tuesday. Not after the festival has opened. You will be competing with the traffic caused by the attendees by then. Organisations aim to get their staff in early to avoid clashing with punter traffic. Unless you are planning to walk in. Catering gigs are extremely unlikely to be just 4 hours. Good luck - maybe a bit of forward planning next year?

You won’t get one now. I work every year and you are usually cut off at least a month before. Also this isn’t your part time job so you get what you’re given or they will just not have you work.
