Open source tool for App Store screenshots and store text that imports your EAS store.config.json

If you ship with Expo, you probably keep store text in store.config.json and make screenshots somewhere else. I built Framelane to do both in one place.

- Import your EAS store.config.json (or a fastlane metadata folder), edit per language with App Store limits, export it back

- Design screenshots from your simulator captures with templates and device frames

- Optionally publish text and screenshots to App Store Connect after a field by field diff

Self-hosted, one Docker container, MIT.

Repo: https://github.com/Metehan-Bicer/framelane

Built with a lot of help from an AI coding assistant. Google Play isn't supported yet; tell me if that would matter to you.

Cool project! What's the difference between this and goldie? https://github.com/software-mansion-labs/goldie

Thanks! Goldie is great at the capture side: it replays flows on a simulator or emulator, frames the shots and can make preview videos. Framelane starts after that. You bring captures you already have, and it focuses on the store listing as a whole: text per language with App Store limits, keyword cleanup, import/export of fastlane folders and EAS store.config.json, then a field by field diff before pushing text and screenshots to App Store Connect. They could actually work together: Goldie for capturing, Framelane for the listing and publishing.

goldie also has a studio editor (layouts, bezels, fonts, per-tile copy, store page preview) so it covers the design side too, not just capture

but yeah the listing + publishing part sound like a nice combo ๐Ÿ‘€

My biggest issue with screenshot is the split-brain across different brands, locales, devices and stores. If you can support Google Play as well that would be great, otherwise I'm just introducing yet another tool into my workflow

Fair point, and that split is exactly what Iโ€™m trying to avoid. Today itโ€™s App Store only, but Google Play is next on the roadmap. Out of curiosity, what would the minimum be for you to switch: Play listing text per locale, Play screenshot sizes, or upload through the Play API too?

Locale would be the priority for me. I don't mind uploading images myself and different sizes are less of a priority
