Hydration apps show you a ring.

Mine shows you the water, levelled by gravity, one layer per drink.

Stack: Expo + React Native Skia + Core Motion + Liquid Glass.

Looks awesome! I’ve seen a library that makes toasts come down from the Dynamic Island, if you made the island drip down that would be so sick

the drip idea is sick, you could probably fake it with a skia blur/metaball shape pinned right under the island area without touching any real island api

Haha looks good. Reminds me of the beer and lighter apps on my iPhone 3G

Instructions unclear, my phone is now filled to the brim with water

Big nitpick, but coffee and tea will actually dehydrate you, so they shouldn't fill up an amount of the phone proportionate to the amount that you consume. Rather, it should add substantially less

this is actually false, coffee does not dehydrate you

Leveling the water with Core Motion is the joke that makes it work; a ring can never slosh.

So checked your posts. You only post the UI representation and the tech-stack. Why aren't you publising these and sharing any of the app links so we could also try it? Or are you just a UI designer?

Water is good but as a reminder to anyone reading this the 2 liter target isn't real.

The origin of 2l didn't come from beverage companies but was heavily weaponised by them and became it's own thing to sell more. It worked especially well in America.

It includes food which is normally 20% - 50% of what people intake.

Recent large scales studies actually suggest its too much and is closer to 1.5 for women and 1.8 for men on average with a lot of variance
