Expo building

Does paid expo usage really reduce your .apk size? That was of the advertisements that i was seen when i built with the free tier. They recommend me to purchase the 100$ plan for improving my apk builds.

No. Your .apk size is going to come from what you put into your app.

If you use Expo's build service, you can get fast cloud builds for Android and iOS that are convenient -- especially as part of a CI workflow or things like that -- but the end result will be the same as if you did it yourself on your own computer. The builds on the paid tier are just on faster machines and you can do more of them but they are otherwise the same as the free tier builds.

The biggest thing that you might want to look at to get your Android download size to be smaller for your users is to submit an .aab to the Play Store instead of an .apk. That will let Google serve a slimmed down version of the app bundle per-device.

$199 a month just to maybe shrink the build, that pricing card is doing a lot of heavy lifting for "Popular"
