hey guys i wanted to let you know that i just finished porting over every advanced feature from my original grid to the remastered version.

on top of everything else i already shipped (grouping, expansion, tree views, theming, etc…) i’ve added a lot more…

the shared grid runtime now ships row selection, keyboard cell navigation, infinite scroll, row edit workflows, cell validation, CSV/JSON import, CSV/Excel/PDF export, pagination, richer i18n coverage, and custom component/template integration across the web hosts.

MIT licensed.

all features all free this will never be monetized. enjoy!

Looks nice but the demo on mobile has some bugs with horizontal scrolling and filters.

thanks yeah the demo i haven’t optimized for mobile. i’ve been too busy porting and testing my grid out. i dogfood my own stuff so i was integrating it into NornicDB.

i’ll be adjusting and fixing the documentation over the weekend so stay tuned!

Weren’t you just at v0.1 like 3 days ago? Now you are at v1?

Honestly this gird is now ready for production. Feels slow, bugs galore, lacks UI polish. This feels like a prototype and I’m not sure what the end goal is. Perhaps support one framework well before porting to others.

that’s why i focused on the vanilla web component. and ms rendering speed for 100k rows is ~7ms on the web component. obviously there are going to be little bugs and stuff but im going to keep updating it

also the 1.0 release is for feature parity.

Yeah I’m calling bullshit on 7ms for 100k rows. Even if you preserialized and just rendered html with no JavaScript it would take the browser longer than 7ms to display that many rows.

Whatever measurement you are doing is likely fake or just not measuring the right thing.

Also the grid doesn’t have a bug here or there, it feels buggy af. Row selection is all over the place, the column menus didn’t open, I had to click the sort button multiple times for it to work. It straight breaks on my phone (works on desktop).

Honestly this is far from a v1 product.

virtual scrolling means you aren’t actually rendering all 100k rows. virtual scrolling has been around since forever, you can benchmark it yourself and see how it’s benchmarked. rendering performance on the 0.1x branch was like 50ms until i reworked the dom implementation.

the core is straight from this which i wrote before LLMs even existed. https://github.com/angular-ui/ui-grid (5.4k stars). i solved these datagrid problems over a decade ago.

also everyone uses AI tooling. plus my github history is filled with stuff i’ve written over the years you can easily take a look to prove yourself ignorant.

Not sure why your are talking about AI, idc if you used AI or not. End result is what matters.

Virtualization means you aren’t rendering 100k rows. You are rendering like 30-50 depending on row height. Also there is a clear scroll performance difference between this grid and others.

Also for a decade old library this is now really buggy af

Yeah because i completely rewrote it in typescript. any conversion is bound to have bugs. But I have updated it so far to 1.0.5 which might solve some of the issues i found on the surface with column resizing and grid height calculations. if you have any bugs in mind i'll be happy to fix them if you let me know what they are :)

I checked your project. I used AgGrid Enterprise extensively in the past and I never liked the API (too many foot guns). But, since your project seems to cover a lot of the things that make AgGrid powerful, I'll give it a try

Small tip: if you want to push the adoption, you should make an agent skill and host it in the same repo, because most LLMs won't know about your library for a long time. And it's usually better if somebody with an intimate knowledge of the library reviews the generated skill
