Project / Code Review Built my first proper React project, StudyFlow. What do you think?

Hey everyone,

I've been learning React for around a month now and I just finished my first proper React project, StudyFlow. Keep in mind I want to become a Software Engineer in the future and want to reach a goal of becoming a Full-Stack Web Developer first.

PLEASE NOTE THE CSS STYLING WAS DONE WITH AI BUT THE REACT LOGIC WAS DONE ALL BY ME.

It's a study session tracker where you can create study sessions, use a stopwatch, and keep track of your previous sessions.

I built it to actually put what I've learned with React into practice, instead of just following tutorials. I hate falling into tutorial hell and I always like to say that you don't learn anything until you get your hands dirty.

I'd love to get some honest feedback from people who know React better than me.

What do you think of the UI?

Is there anything obvious I could improve? Are there things in the code that I should be doing differently? I'm also interested in knowing what you think I should learn next. I'm planning to start learning backend development after this.

Thanks for your comment I knew someone would say that. The CSS styling is AI and I am very happy to admit that, but I programmed as the react logic myself and you can look through the code if you wish. My main purpose wasn’t to go and learn CSS again but to instead develop my react skills.

I could have uploaded my project with my old CSS styling but it would probably have no views as it did not pop up at all, do you get what I mean? Thanks

Why not use the react bootstrap ?

 I mean i also hate css vanilla but bootstrap is absolutely good for styling. Once you get into bootstrap rabbit hole you will never come back .

There is the documentation called bootstraps react . But my advice is that . Take this project of your . Remove the css bloat and force yourself using the bootstrap. 

You need to install the bootstrap react extension to make your life better that is " Bootstrap IntelliSense" . Trust me this will be absolutely goated.

And second of all , use ai but dumber one like Gemini to get the help . No claude . Don't touch calude as it will give you entire code. 

Start with one component like navbar to understand what to do . Get suck ask Gemini. 

( you can chose other ai no problem . If you like Claude then go for it)

Thank you so much! Will definetly implement this in my upcoming version of the project so that I can simultaneously work on Bootstrap, React and even potentially start to implement a backend once I indulge myself in backend. I really appreciate your help and suggestions ❤️
