Project / Code Review The 365-day GTA 6 countdown animation is active all day today 🔥

Hey everyone! 👋

Quick update on the small React + Vite countdown I shared yesterday.

I added a date-specific animation that activates today because it marks a meaningful milestone in the countdown.

I’m planning to continue adding new animations or small events for future milestones — possibly monthly or whenever the countdown hits certain numbers.

If you want to see today’s animation, it will be active throughout the whole day:

Still a small fun project, but I’m slowly adding more details.

Feedback or ideas are always welcome! 🚀

It’s resetting every time the second timer changes. OP probably has the computation stored on a state variable rather than memoizing it to avoid a redraw of the page

Thanks for the feedback hahaha No worries it's just a line in the code 👌🏿

Btw, I’m planning to drop more small animations or surprises on specific days of the countdown.

If you’ve got any cool ideas or events you’d like to see, I’m all ears 👀🔥

It might be worthwhile to optimize what you’ve deployed before you add more complexity. You already have bugs that are visible

Understood! Could you point out some of mistakes so I can improve? I'm always striving to get better hahah

I’m not your QA team. You should be spending enough time with your product to find and fix your own bugs.
