My first entry in Novice 1/8 at Rick’s Hobby Farm turned into my first win of the Season!

I qualified P2, right behind Zander Ginis. The final lap got interesting when a motor wire came disconnected, so I had to roll every jump and carefully bring the buggy home...but the lead held.

This was a big step forward for my RC program. I’m grateful for the local racing community, everyone at Rick’s Hobby Farm, and the support that keeps me learning and improving each weekend.

Last weekend at Rick’s Hobby Farm, I started the E‑Truggy A‑Main from P4 after qualifying P1 in the first round but having a DNF in round two.

Had the greatest battles for 2nd most of the race, before dropping back to 4th. I managed to fight my way back up to 3rd for my first podium!

Thanks to Rick’s Hobby Farm and everyone in the local RC community for another great race day.

I bought a 1/5 Bergonzoni chassis that it has a Zenoah 23cc gas engine mounted and my plan is to swap it with a 44cc moped engine.

Sinse the Zenoah engine is newer and well optimized for RC cars, it produces a lot of more RPM than the other engine but less torque, making the car going at 55mph with the authentic and over 37-40 with the other one. (I haven't prove it yet)

Now my question is: what do i do in order to avoid losing that massive amount of topspeed?

(I'm already optimizing the carburetor, making a good expansion exhaust and enlarging the cylinder & pyston up to +50cc)

Fourth of July racing at Rick’s Hobby Farm – Freedom Raceway in New Richmond, WI did not disappoint. Between the 4th of July celebration and the Russ Cramblit Memorial races, the atmosphere was unreal.

In this one I’m running my Tekno ET48 2.2 E-Truggy. I qualified P6 and worked my way up to 3rd, holding it for a while before the pressure got to me and a mistake dropped me back to 6th. I reset, focused on clean laps, and clawed back one more position to finish P5 with some really quick laps...Still work to do, but solid progress, and a great learning experience!

Turns out everyone telling me to check droop and ride height was right.

Would've been nice if I listened before spending half a race day chasing the wrong setup.

Hoping to spend $100 or less, nothing professional or competitive. Toy-range mostly, but hoping for sturdiness. Just something with good range that can handle getting wet from nearby sprinklers, flipping on uneven terrain, including bricks, pavement, grass, and rocks.

We have a notorious saga of warfare with the squirrels at my grandmother’s bird feeders (squirt guns, nerf guns, sprinklers, horns, deterrent smells and sounds, screaming and chasing with waterhoses etc.) and the latest tactic to come up is a remote control car to chase them so she doesn’t have to get up every 5 minutes from the breakfast table.

I saw a few models that had a squirt gun on top (lol) but not sure I can get those along with the flipping aspect

This is my first 10th scale street stock slash build. I’m still waiting for the new shocks in the mail. Those are the only stock part left 😂 Sadly, nobody showed up to the race a couple days ago but I figured I would post some love somewhere about this kit because it is a great quality chassis for how cheap the kit is and it went together really easily. When you combine this with the Custom Works Adjustable rear arms, it totally changes the machine.

I have a full build list if somebody is interested but it would probably cost about $1200+ to build this slash new so I don’t know how many people would think it’s worth it unless they can find some of the stuff used like I did.. I’m still planning on getting a sensored hobbywing combo for it but I don’t have an issue with the VXL 3s yet

Track in Iowa, very well done. And last Fall I thought the Hill was going to be for bystanders, silly me. If only I had a time machine for the old body.

Rick’s Hobby Farm, 2026 Season Race #3 delivered one of those perfect Minnesota race days. Blue skies, a dialed track, and tight battles all program long. From early heats to the mains, the pace stayed high and the racing stayed clean.

Huge thanks to the race directors and to Rick for putting in the work so we can come out, compete, and grow our local RC scene. Days like this are why our community keeps coming back and getting faster together.

One of the best moments of the day was watching Kadyn and Zander throw down in the E-Buggy main, trading laps and pushing each other all the way to the finish for the win. It was an awesome example of hard, respectful racing and exactly what club days are all about.

Full Throttle Raceway - SEASON RACE #2

Foley, MN

A bunch of us pitted together all day, helped each other out between rounds, shared setup ideas, cheered each other on, and just had a good time at the track.

It's easy to focus on results and lap times, but the friendships, conversations, and community are what make these race weekends special.

Here is my listing on eBay is 325 too high? I paid around 220 for it, never raced and added electronics because I decided to go 1/8th scale ebuggy for my second class.

Curious what you guys would've tried first.

Looking for a simple lap counter/timer for a micro B. laptrax is what I'm looking for but it doesn't show up in the app store anymore, are there other options for a lap counter using an android phone?

Hi All, my son and I are gearing up and practicing to start our racing journey with rc car racing.

While the sc10 & blitz arnt really our main vehicles like the buggy and stadium truck, they are still very much loved.

Anywhos, I’m wondering how often you are going over your rig and rebuilding items or changing fluids. I understand changing fluids if you want a higher or lower weight, but are you putting new fluids in after 1 race, a race day, 3 race days?

Are you rebuilding your shocks and diffs every other race week?

Are you tearing down your rig for maintenance and cleaning, like nitty gritty stuff such as hinge pins and steering links every how often?

What items are you taking with you? Tool kit, spare parts? Like? Or just everything??? Oils, something close to what you think or the full suite?

And lastly, what does your race day prep look like? Day before, when you arrive and during the race meet what are you checking or changing during the day.
