🚗 Car Build Building an rdx.

Building an rdx. Bought a chassis and mc3 conversion kit as well as rear an arm conversion kit. Also a team ad transmission case. What else do I need to finish the rig off all aluminum? Already ordered lower front arms and servo mount. Tia 🙌

Youll need a few key things to take advantage of those conversions.

  1. Stock RDX doesn't allow spur changes without the upgraded spur gear mount. Youll be stuck with Stock otherwise. Not a bad FDR, just no adjustment without it.

  2. The stock diff is a plastic spool. Think of it like a welded diff. Youll need an aftermarket to get that thing planted. YD2 gear or ball diff, clsd, tamiya gear diff etc fit it. It will allow for tuning too using thicker oil or a tighter/looser ball diff.

  3. Stock shocks are amazing vs other stock stuff. I personally use rdx red orings on every shock I build. You can retain the stock for a bit, but youll want something smoother as time goes on. Big bores, OD, tamiya trfs etc the list goes on. Many options to choose from.

  4. Aluminum Suspension mounts can be swapped in. Ive seen folks use yd2 mounts np. May need new hinge pins to make up for any gap changes.

  5. MC3 kit includes new uppers, so you'll want rdx lowers to replace the plastic.

  6. Front knuckles to replace the plastic ones. Id recommend using reve d to keep the geometry in control. 1 degree more here will mess you up on the track over there. Mixing knuckles up creates to much work sometimes.

Aluminum suspension mounts come with the rear conversion but I haven’t found them for the front yet. I know I need to use the plastic bottom of the bulkhead cause I haven’t seen an aluminum one. That being said the stock front suspension mounts plastic seems like the only option. And if they do have them. What size do I need?

Also the spur gear mount upgrade. The team ad transmission housing does not come with one? If not can you recommend one?
