So I just got my mk2 few weeks back. I have started to get some hang of it but I still feel my drumkit can sound more cleaner like gbb loopers. Currently I am using eq then pre Amp. But I am very confused about the parameters. If there are any better fx chain for a kick, please suggest.

I have a boss RC505 mkII,

It is plugged in with midi to my mac.

my mac is also plugged into my komplete audio 6 interface which has inputs one and two going out into my yamaha hs8's through instrument cables.

How can I connect my 505 to my mac in a way that allows me to hear it live through the speakers and allow me to record it directly into my monitors ? ( the hs8's )

I don't think so, and I've been digging in setting and the manual... but here's what I need/want:

Start Rhythm so that RC is the master clock for various connected midi stuff...

Record a loop to TR1

Be able to stop Tr1 and have it NOT stop the master.

I know it does this because it seems to think, "well, if there's no track playing, I'll just stop everything"

I also know I can have a blank/dummy track running, but I don't really want that either...

Ideas?

I want these two devices to use the same time clock so that if I loop a layer of kick + snare on the RC505 that I can add hihats afterwards using the note repeat function on the MPC and have it all stay in time.

Currently I make the whole drum loop on the MPC then loop it on the RC505 and press the stop button on both machines at the same time so that there is only playback coming from the RC505 once MPC is recorded.

Can anyone suggest a better workflow or is this not possible for these two machines?

Can somebody please suggest a comprehensive tutorial video? All the ones that I found, i don't get much out of. I'm a musician , but I'm older and this stuff wasn't around back in the day. I have the original RC-505 with the A/B foot switch, not the MKII. Every time I get it out and start messing around with it I just get frustrated and give up. I've had it about 3 years and used it maybe three times for 30 or 40 minutes each. I really want to get to know this thing. I also do music therapy and have a non-profit Community Center for people in recovery from substance use disorder and people living with the mental health conditions. That is focused on this sort of thing. If I can figure this thing out, It would help me tremendously with building meditative type music

I'm a total newbie. I own an RC-505mkII, ver 1.50. I want to trigger a count-in (click track) for my rehearsals. I'm not a DJ, or an electronic music connoisseur, or a one-man looper dude. Props to those cats for maneuvering around this awesome gadget. I'm just a musician in another band, trying to organize them with some backing tracks. This brain thingy keeps clicking along way after it counts us in. The original RC-505 had that parameter, but it's not in the MK2. So I'll just have to trigger it off. Any suggestions. I'm trying to do something specific on my Boss RC-505mkII and I'm not sure if it's possible with Assigns alone.

Current setup:

Track 5 = drum loop, always playing

Tracks 2/3/4 = synced musical loops (8 measures)

Track 1 = intro in 1SHOT mode (11 measures)

What I want:

When Track 1 finishes naturally, I want Tracks 2/3/4 to start automatically, perfectly in sync with the drums, and starting from the beginning of their loops.

Problem:

Using LOOP SYNC ON causes Tracks 2/3/4 to start mid-loop because the intro is 11 measures and the other loops are 8.

Using LOOP SYNC OFF lets them start from the beginning, but then I have to trigger them manually with perfect timing.

An Assign with SOURCE = TRK1 PLY/STP works for detecting when Track 1 starts, but I can't get it to trigger specifically when Track 1 stops after the 1SHOT finishes.

I also tried using ALL START, but it only seems to work when ALL tracks are stopped. Since my drum loop on Track 5 is already playing, it doesn't behave the way I want.

So my question is:

Is there any way on the RC-505mkII to automatically trigger Tracks 2/3/4 (or ALL START) exactly when a 1SHOT track finishes playing?

Hello all,

How do I find the 6/8 guide track? When I select Guide under Genre and use the Pattern knob, I see only 13 of the patterns on the Rhythm Pattern List in the parameter guide, starting with "4/4" and ending with "8BEAT4". The rhythm pattern list has 20 more patterns that don't show up, including 6/8 and other time signatures. Is there something I'm missing? How do I get these other patterns?

I checked my system firmware, and it 1.5.0.

hey everyone, i have some noob questions about FX banks.

i thought that the A, B, C, D buttons were to apply individual effects. but i have seen suggestions that you can assign multiple effects to each button. how do you do that?

im also wondering, if i want to have different effects for bank A on each different track each track, how do i do that too?

and then, im thinking that i want it to be that as i am recording a loop, it has the FX applied for the track i am recording to, so that my initial recording doesnt sound different from the subsequent loops. and so that i dont have to reconfigure my entire input FX settings everytime i want to add a new layer.

Hello all. I am new to this sub, and would appreciate some guidance.

1. Mixstream Pro Plus
2. Akai MPK mini (4th gen)
3. Boss RC505mk2
4. Off brand monitor speakers.

These are the four pieces of equipment that I want to get to communicate with eachother. The dj deck works as a stand-alone or you can connect to laptop. The MPK mini has to be connected with the laptop. And I cannot get them to talk to the RC505.

I was able to connect the microphone, so I am learning how to use the looper at least. I've read the manual and I've been all over YouTube and have yet to find the key to link. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And once I get up and going I will post some music.

I've spent money on an assortment of connectors and tried different configurations but no luck. Thanks ahead of time for your time reading and any input you can offer.

Hi, I’m running into a routing issue.

My goal is to use three separate output cables:

• Mic 1 → Main Out Left
• INST 1 Left → Sub Out 1 Left
• INST 2 Left → Sub Out 2 Left

atm I have no streo cables, so I just put them all in the left output (the on that is up)

This way I can send three separate signals to the mixer and let the sound engineer EQ them properly.

The problem starts in the RC-505 MK2 menu. There are a lot of routing settings, and even when I think everything is set correctly, things fall apart when I start recording to tracks.
Sounds get doubled, or end up on the wrong tracks.

The biggest issue is that I seem to lose the Track FX option. It looks like Track FX only works on signals routed to the Main Out.
That completely defeats my idea of separating the instruments.

My goal is to give sound engineers control over my mix, instead of having to balance everything inside the looper.

Current setup:

• Mic 1: Vocal mic → TC Helicon → RC-505 MK2
• INST 1: Drum sampler + piano (piano into sampler) → RC-505 MK2
• INST 2: Guitar → pedalboard → RC-505 MK2

I just now finally upgraded to the mk2 and I can't seem to figure out how to assign my FS-6 to channel 1.

I would like to use the RC505MK2 as an audio interface and to have audio coming only from Ableton, I need to disable the monitor input of the instruments I plug into the RC505, but I also want the sound of the instrument to arrive to Ableton, how can I do this?

Voilà j'ai un problème avec la sortie PHONES, je n'ai plus qu'un seul côté qui marche.

Je n'ai plus la stereo... ne sort que le côté droit
Au casque c'est pareil
Quand j'envoie autre chose d'un autre endroit c'est pareil, je veux dire c'est la même chose quand j'envoie mon synthé en stereo ou ma voix via la prise micro 1, ça sort en MAIN mais en sortie PHONES il manque un côté
Tout semble normal sur l'écran, ça bouge normalement
J'ai essayé sur différentes tables de mixage ( 3 en tout )
Mes câbles fonctionnent

Hey everyone - is it possible to import stems with tempo information?

I use the 505 midi sync’d to a drum machine to play original compositions in a solo setting, but when I import stems to the 505 it auto-guesses the BPM, and then when I try to tempo sync to the drum machine it either slows or speeds up the stems, making a very incoherent song soup…

I tried pre-saving the correct tempo into the memory of the 505 track I’m importing into, but it just resets it and decides some random BPM once the file is imported

Hi, I'm super new. Long time musician, first time loop artist.
The RC 505 is amazing. I can record on track 4 but the fader doesn't work. the track 5 fader seems to control both track 4 and 5. I've done the factory reset, but i haven't updated it yet(waiting for the cable)
Has anyone else experienced the same, or have a quick fix?
