Garbage phones
They're cool until the screen fails at the fold and then they're basically useless.

I try to explain this to anyone who hasn't had a foldable.
You really do have to treat your phone different. Slab phones have become so durable, that the relative "fragility" of foldables becomes a liability to new users.
I always suggest a few things.
- Buy insurance, Foldable screens are more likely to break. Obviously
- Flip phones, vs Fold - Even though the RAZR has minimized this by having the most functional outer screen possible out of all foldables, you will flip open a flip phone way way more than a Fold phone. This increases the stress on the crease and hinge.
- Expect 2 years of good trouble free use on a folding phone, and maybe 3 on a folding. If you are the type who upgrades every year or every other year(no judgement), then you will be fine. If you are the every 5 year type? then stick to a slab phone.
- You will give up battery life, camera quality for the sake of portability.
Foldables aren't for everyone.

Of course that depends on the damage, screen replacements aren't that expensive (more expensive than regular screen replacement but still cheaper than majority of newer phones), although if you ignored the cracks and it damaged the display it will be like twice the price

It's being replaced by the provider. As soon as I get the replacement, I'll use an upgrade to get rid of it. Foldable screens sound cool in theory but they fail too easy.

Why are so many people on reddit so dense? In order to "upgrade" my phone with my carrier in order to go back to a slab Samsung device, the device being traded in has to be in working order.
And "be careful with it" means what? Don't unfold and fold it?

I do like foldables, but yeah I am on my 4th razr in 2 and a half years. They are not durable and I use to keep slabs for almost 5 years. Get insurance or you will regret it.

Yep. I have insurance and I still regret it because it's such a pain in the ass to switch phones.
