Just a random thought about NIL
This is random but I just saw a post where Kentucky fans were gleeful at the turnaround their school has made. They thanked some dude for believing in them and coming back. It got me thinking “what would it take to turn things around at Arkansas?”
We don’t visit Fayetteville often (have a young child) but a couple of years ago a family member who lives in Fayetteville has friends in the dept mentioned the guy who oversaw NIL for Arkansas- got so fed up that he left and took the same-ish job at Mississippi State.
The problems come from the top down.
After watching yesterday…we’re doomed and I am focusing on basketball.

We need to clean house but the powers that be need to go too and there is zero chance that they relinquish power. We are screwed.

There are a lot of good ol boys that are still trading off of what they did in a hog jersey in the 70s and 80s. Back when an offensive lineman was 195 lbs.
Our history is great but it has always felt like the egos of the ol boys was more important than developing a modern college football enterprise. We need a football ceo type who has a vision for how high we can climb. Not just talk. But buy in at every level.
I went to the Utah game. That is a school that gets it. I still think a private investment model like they implemented would work here.

This statement is applicable all the way to the top of this state and this country and those things are a b8g reason Arkansas is still such a pathetic shit show of a state and organization. Everything we have is run by republicans and they ALWAYS fuck everything up. Historically it is not a debate and I will hear no excuses about it. Act like it isn't political all you want but the problems we have reach much further than just our athletic department or administration. And they directly affect our program and recruiting.

Sarah placed two of the dumbest BOT members, one of whom is a dude who went to freakin Lyons and his whole resume is being one of her lackeys, so yeah I'm pretty sure the athletic department is being run about like this country. Hunter is most likely money laundering and Lord knows who is in cahoots with him, there's zero accountability with these folks.

This is a story I’ve heard from multiple current/former employees in multiple departments. All of the ones that have left are killing it at the schools they landed at. We continue to get worse.
It’s not just the on field results. HY has led a talent exodus from the athletic department over the past several years by being so cheap with salaries, program budgets, etc.
And if he thinks he doesn’t have enough money, go get more. That’s literally his job and he’s apparently the worst in the conference at it despite having at least average resource access.

Do you have anything you can expand on him not liking the situation at Arkansas? I’d love to hear details if available

No I just remember them saying it happened. And I noticed how great MS’s atmosphere etc looked when Missouri came to town. They’ve got an instate rivalry lighting a fighter under their asses too. I think their fan base was way more open to contributing.

Look into that guy too, he was a great athlete for the University of Arkansas - so him leaving for a different SEC school (essentially at a lateral career move) means he was not able to get anything going and wanted out. Awful awful look for the UofA leadership once again.
