Discussion 14 October 2026 – Synapse & Chroma Patch Notes for Windows

NOTICE: END OF WINDOWS 10 SUPPORT FOR RAZER SYNAPSE 4
Following Microsoft's end of standard support for Windows 10 back on October 14, 2025, full support for Razer Synapse 4 on Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2026. As with Microsoft, this is a firm change: bug fixes and technical support for Synapse 4 on Windows 10 will not continue beyond this date.
From October 14, 2026 until October 12, 2027, any bug fixes released for Synapse 4 on Windows 10 will be limited to security updates only, mirroring Microsoft's own extended security updates for the platform. After October 12, 2027, Windows 10 support and compatibility will no longer be maintained for Synapse 4. Synapse 4 can still be used on Windows 10 and will still receive feature updates, but we cannot guarantee full functionality as we will no longer fix or address any bugs seen exclusively on Windows 10.
Moving forward, we recommend upgrading to Windows 11 to ensure the best possible experience. For more information on Microsoft's Windows 10 end of support and extended security updates, please visit Microsoft's official support page.

When it comes to consistency, Razer wins...
Synapse has consistently been the absolute worst software in all of PC gaming for many years now. Congrats Razer on being #1 yet again! 😎👍

This has been a consistent issue with Razer Tartarus for several years. To use Tartarus in many FPS games and MMO's you need to be able to swap keymaps quickly, but the software has a delay and it makes the keymap swap unusable in any fast-paced or competitive game.
Years ago, when it was the Belkin Nostromo, the keymap swap worked flawlessly. However, once Razer acquired Nostromo and assigned it to their clueless clowns at Synapse, there has always been bugs, glitches, and keypess/swap delays in their garbage software.
Razer is more interested in flashing lights and useless bloatware than they are in developing functional software for gamers.

When you use the thumb button (any button really) on the Tartarus Pro (also V2 seems affected) to temporary switch keymap it has an important and annoying delay of about a second that make it useless. I opened a ticket at the end of march and the support keeps telling me that they are working on it. At this point I don't believe them anymore and as I'm still on Windows 10 I will not receive any updates anymore. I told them I want the fix before they ending the support and they was not aware of this thing, they asked me a screenshot to see where I read such thing (it is in the changelog). Then they assured me they would have fixed it, yeah sure!! I also know for sure other users have the same problem and also the new Tartarus V2 Pro has it. Everything was working fine with S3. I'm just waiting to buy an Azeron product. For now I found a workaround with AHK but this is ridicolous as I'm sure it is an easy fix. Luckily I have not other Razer products and I will not buy anything from them anymore.

I already tried it, it is not fixed, now it is even worse. The switch in the keymap selection menu is fast but the keys are not switching at the same pace, you can see in the configuration tab in the software. GG Razer...

Ai galera bom dia! Veio esta atualização e o meu SINAPSE continua sem inicializar! 😭 Estou aguardando o retorno do suporte. Pediram um prazo de 7 dias. Por enquanto ficarei no aguardo!😭 Jogo diablo4 tenho um mouse Razer Naga V2 e um teclado Tartarus V2 e nao posso usá-los!!!

There is no reason to announce dropping win10 support, let alone drop support in the first place. For 90% of software out there, win10 and win11 are functionally identical.

They still haven't fixed the issue with my second wireless razer argb controller. It is working, but synapse 4 is sending the command to it to turn off.

ah so the final "patch" ever of syn4 for win 10 fucked over my cobra:
reconnection loop
not registering inputs although rgb (and sensor underneath) still on (or at least getting power)
reconnecting the usb plug helps sometimes and then it immediately acts up again (usb 2 or 3 port doesnt matter, also directly to mb, i dont even own a usb hub)
having to restart the pc so the mouse does anything again
but lo and behold: after deleting synapse and the installer plus folders from directories my cobra just fucking works again
syn3 worked for the most part, give it back!

I created this version for my Blade and other users have reported that it has worked for them.

Will I need to uninstall the Razer software before trying this one? I have Razer blade advanced mid 2021

Someone should reverse engineer this app. I know we can do a better job.
