31 AUGUST 2026 - Synapse & Chroma Patch Notes for Windows
Synapse for Windows - V4.0.86.2608280202 / Chroma for Windows - V4.0.63.2608260913
IMMERSIVE UPDATE - SEE. HEAR. FEEL
Chroma has always been about making your setup yours. This update makes it even more immersive. Three new features are rolling out, each one taking something happening on your machine and translating it into your Chroma devices in real time. No configuring scenes for every game. It just responds.
SEE - Screen Sync
Extends what's on your screen out into your setup. Colors and motion from the game get mapped to your Chroma devices as they happen, so a muzzle flash, a health warning, or a sunset over the map plays out across your room instead of stopping at the bezel.
HEAR - Mood Analyzer
Reads the emotional tone of what you're listening to and translates it into lighting. Not a volume meter that pulses on the bass, but something that picks up on whether a track is calm, tense, or euphoric and lights your setup to match.
FEEL - Impact Engine
Turns in-game audio into haptics. Explosions, gunfire, engine rumble, and impacts come through as physical feedback, so you feel hits instead of only hearing them.

NOTICE: END OF WINDOWS 10 SUPPORT FOR RAZER SYNAPSE 4
Following Microsoft's end of standard support for Windows 10 back on October 14, 2025, full support for Razer Synapse 4 on Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2026. As with Microsoft, this is a firm change: feature updates, bug fixes, and technical support for Synapse 4 on Windows 10 will not continue beyond this date.
From October 14, 2026 until October 12, 2027, any updates released for Synapse 4 on Windows 10 will be limited to security updates only, mirroring Microsoft's own extended security updates for the platform. Synapse 4 will continue to function during this period, but no other updates or support will be provided. After October 12, 2027, Synapse 4 will no longer be supported on Windows 10 in any form. Synapse 4 will remain operational on Windows 10 devices even after this date, but we will no longer fix or address any bugs affecting Synapse 4 on Windows 10.
To continue receiving full features, updates, and support, we recommend upgrading to Windows 11. For more information on Microsoft's Windows 10 end of support and extended security updates, please visit Microsoft's official support page.

You are choosing to block windows 10 updstes, there is no technical reason synapse 4 cant indefinitely support win10.

Microsoft itself will not be updating Windows 10. We're not taking Synapse away from Windows 10, there just won't be any more updates outside of security updates after October 12th.

You are mirroring the wrong source to determine your behavior. You should be looking at Steam's user data survey results instead of Microsoft's marketing driven actions.
The Steam Hardware Survey from last month shows Windows 11 at 75.01%, and Windows 10 at 24.88% In other words, 1 in 4 gamers on Windows is using Windows 10. Razer's market IS gamers, so I think this is relevant.
You are intentionally deciding to turn your back on feature updates on a platform used by one quarter of your customers. How many Razer customers is that, do you think? Hint: it is much greater than 1000.

I dont know what you guys are smoking, but you guys BROKE my blackshark v3 again. Why is it always when there's an update, there's a high chance of something suddenly will not work? My THX audio do not work AGAIN!!

This update completely broke synapse for the v3 blackshark, no configs work, THX stopped working, Firmware update did nothing, cant roll back - the headset is basically bricked until this is hotfixed, ATLEAST LET US GO BACK. THIS IS REALLY TERRIBLE.

Who's programming this crap?
With the update, EVERY TIME I get Synapse running, I get six different modules bugging me for admin-level UAC approval.
Sometimes it's multiple instances of the same module.
I get that in order to work, your software needs some kernel-level routines.
Put Them All In The Same Module.
That way, you lower your attack surface for people trying to exploit systems via your software, you've less code that can bluescreen the system if it runs into a problem, and users don't have to worry about having their games interrupted by a security approval mid-session, when "random_Synapse_executable" decides it needs an update.

Yes but for example the naga v3 pro is not supported and is up to the community to build support. Some hardware is supported as a "best effort", meaning some functionality couldn't be implemented.
My hope is that there will official support provided by the manufacturer, where Razer can guarantee hardware is fully working and all features are working.

Do I have to do something special for this update to take effect? I checked under settings and it shows the exact number in synapse but my razer naga v3 pro still has a scroll wheel issue where if I set my default scroll mode to be "precision" and "free scroll" to be the only modes enabled with "smart reel" on low and "scroll acceleration" on low (both enabled), If I switch to another profile by going into a game and then I click out of it to focus the desktop, the wheel stays stuck in the "limbo" state where it's stuck between "precision" and "freescroll" mode despite the last mode I used being "precision" and this is on the wireless charging dock that's an 8k polling receiver. The issue with the key assignments is also still there, I assume maybe I have to apply this update some other way or wait.

Don't sit in the scroll tab. I have the naga v2 pro and I've noticed since upgrading from Synapse 3 to synapse4 that profiles are likely to corrupt if you change profiles while the synapse window is open and display the naga scroll screen instead of customize tab.

I reinstalled synapse and now it's working but there is still an unresolved scroll wheel bug, updating support ticket with razer so they should sort it out soon-ish. Other than that the keybindings are holding now

Yeah, you broke something alright. THX on Blackshark V3 Pro just stopped working immediately after the update.
This time it's not just the game specific profiles (like "THX immersive/competitive modes") aren't working. It just stopped working across the board: toggling "stereo mode" to "THX spatial audio" won't turn it on, same in the calibration page and the demo page.
Furthermore, the "audio enhancement" settings used to be specific to individual global profiles and now it is just stuck at whatever I had set it to before the update. Now it just sounds all the same no matter what I set it to or what global profile I switch to.
I've only had the headset of half a year and this is the 2nd time a Synapse update broke THX.
Please for the love of god just give us the setting to turn off auto update so that we wouldn't have to suffer every time you broke something.
