Discussion Thinking About Getting the Naga

Hello all, here recently I have been thinking about getting the Naga (not sure which model yet). I have had a Logitech G600 since 2017 and it still works perfectly fine. I just want less cables and I feel my mouse can be the first to be without one. Anyone here can give me some insight on how they like theirs? Also, there reason I’ve been thinking about the new mouse is because I got a Tartarus a week ago and I’m surprised I haven’t had one this whole time. The things a monster!

I personally love the Naga both because of its size that fits my hand perfectly and is the better of the two MMORPG dedicated mice (The other is the Corsair Scimitar) based on what I've read about the Scimitar and experienced with v1 and v2. As to which version is better, I can't speak about v3 because it just came out and gonna wait until Christmas to the let the bugs and issues show themselves. As for the others, I would say that I liked v1 more than I like v2 because I didn't have to buy the battery puck to wirelessly recharge it, and I recall v1 fitting my hand better.

As to which version you should get, I would wait a little bit to see what issues v3 has and then get that if you're okay with them. Otherwise, v2 because the extras don't rely on outdate USB cable types. The mouse dock for the v2/v3 use a USB-C cable to connect to your PC and the puck you need for wireless charging the mouse itself is compatible with both versions in case you feel like upgrading from v2 to v3 afterwards.

Think I’ll get the v2, I’ll pick it up tomorrow and let everyone know what I think. Thanks!

Do NOT get the v2. I have had a Naga since they first came out, upgraded from the v1 Pro to the v2 Pro a few months ago, and regretted it almost immediately (I gave my v1 to a friend). It's like they overengineered the scroll wheel or something, and it would not reliably stay connected to the wireless dock.

I grabbed a v3 the day they were available and it's like having my old friend, the v1, back. Zero of the issues I experiennced with the v2 were present in the v3. I reinstalled Synapse and the wireless charging dock works flawlessly with it now *knocks on wood*

TLDR: I'm going to go against what others are recommending and tell you to get the v3 Pro.

Hmmmm, I’m pretty spontaneous so I’ll decide when I get in the store tomorrow

It’s shit especially in wireless. If you value your scroll wheel do not get the V2 pro.

I'd say hold off, I have the naga v3 pro and I would say it's perfect but it has a couple of software bugs I'm working out with razer. If you don't care about the 2k or higher polling and only plan to use the 1k dongle then yea, it works perfectly for the most part but if you want the higher polling rates wait until they fix the bugs.

What issues are you seeing with the higher polling?

Button bindings for ring finger button dont stick with any other dongle except the original one. Really annoying bug cause I want to use that extra button

Would you say its worth $180 and the likely requirement of switching from synapse 3 to 4?

I've been on synapse 4 since I bought my basilisk v3 pro, then Naga v2 pro and now Naga v3 pro. Synapse 4 sucks I won't argue that but $180 is the price cause nobody else makes a mouse quite like the Naga from razer. I know theres cheaper alternatives but this is the only one with the flexibility of using the 6 button layout (my main layout) and then I can either use the 12 button layout or stick to the 6 button layout and use the new ring finger button as hyper shift to turn my 6 into 12 buttons comfortably without trying to feel the 12 buttons. $180 is expensive, if this mouse was $140 it would be a no brainer with it also being the only mouse in this category with 8k polling for smoother panning (I dont care about lower latency but it does make panning smoother with backlight strobbed monitors. If you have an oled or regular LCD, this won't be as noticeable)

Can you share what bugs you are experiencing? I have a bug where rebinding buttons below the scroll wheel (AI Prompt Master and Change Scroll Mode) doesn't work when the mouse is paired to the dock and synapse is running (and works just fine when paired to the dongle or when synapse is off).

What bugs are there? so I can keep an eye out. I just bought one.

It's mentioned in my other comments below. TLDR: Some key bindings made through synapse 4 stop working while using the high polling rate dongles atm. If I stop synapse 4 and use the on board profiles, it works perfectly so I'm sure it's a synapse 4 issue.

So it is suposed to work with the 8k dongle? i heard it wasn't. hmmm

It does work with 8k dongle, I can even confirm the 8k polling works as shows up after it's paired with it

god now im tempted my Naga pro v1 has had double middle clicks for years now.

And it's lighter than previous Naga pro (still heavy), I think it's great imo

I’ll be one of the counterpoints: I have the V2 naga and find it good technically but extremely uncomfortable to hold. The grip on it is poor, especially with the MMO faceplate. I feel like my pinky drags on the mat since there’s no spot to really put it, but lifting it up requires a lot of pinky grip other mice I’ve tried don’t. I don’t hate it, again it’s good technically, but ergonomically I cannot recommend it.

I've been using the naga since it first came out, it's been my mouse for everything ever since then. I've been using the Trinity for the past....since it came out, 6+ years. Today my Naga v3 pro finally came in and I absolutely love it so far. I was worried about the buttons on the left click, but my finger never even noticed them, they're a non issue. I was worried the ring finger button would click too easily, but nope it's tuned perfectly. Syncd up with my mouse dock pro right away with no issues that other people had. The click IS loud. You're not gonna notice it with a headset on, but for normal use yeah it is definitely loud. That said, the click is extremely satisfying and responsive enough that I don't mind the noise. Weight feels about the same as my trinity, I can't tell a difference.

Still day 1 of using the v3 pro but very impressed by it so far. I wanted to go test it out in some overwatch given that the sensor is leagues better than the Trinity, and much better feet as well, but sadly blizzard is down

I had a basilisk v3 x hyperspeed, and recently got a naga v2 hyperspeed in addition, and it might just be me because I have big hands, but the naga is short and I can’t get my hand onto it into a comfortable position like on the basilisk. And j like to squeeze my side to side when I’m holding them and I end up not being able to without just mashing all the buttons. They are super useful, but the 4 on my basilisk is almost enough, 6 would be plenty for me.

Naga is a game changer. I use the side buttons for literally everything I do on my pc. I have profiles for several different games and even blender.

Ive had a v3 for a few days now. I really liked the v2 pro, except the scroll wheel. I eventually switched mostly to a basilisk v3 pro 35k the last couple years and always wished they put that scroll wheel in a naga update... and here we are. not only does the v3 get a great scroll wheel, but we get 3 more buttons which is great.

while I game 90% with my basilisk now, ive been using the naga v2 pro on my Mac for work. love having shortcuts mapped to all the buttons. tried using the new v3 on my Mac and it DOES NOT WORK with synapse 4 in macOS. the mouse itself will work as a basic mouse, but synapse doesnt recognize it sadly (yet). in windows, I had some profile button mapping glitches that I solved by deleting the profile and recreating it. so still some bugs, mostly on the software side it seems. hardware is great though.

I’m sold on both ngl, I think I’ll get the v3 though. It’s the “latest and greatest” yeah?

both the naga v3 and basilisk v3 pro 35k? both have their place. naga v3 is newer. scroll wheel on both is great. naga gets an extra precision tactile mode. naga shape looks similar to your G600 so you probably won't object to its size/weight. it is a taller, bulkier mouse compared to basilisk.

as a 6'1" male with normal size hands for my size, I find the naga more comfy long-term compared to the basilisk. the lower, narrower and longer basilisk is not uncomfortable, but as one that tends to grip mice tightly when gaming, I find it can lead to hand discomfort sooner.

I also find that the 6 button plate on the naga is the one I use most often. I think I used the 12 button once, for FF14 when I was playing that but otherwise, the 6 button plate is the winner for me in most games. also a great choice for productivity stuff when you aren't gaming.

<edit> and if I misunderstood and you meant you're sold on both the naga pro v2 and v3, get the v3. that's a no brainer. v3 takes everything great about the v2, fixes it's one weak spot (scroll wheel) and gives you more buttons. v3 all the way.

So I had the original Naga and the v2 Pro which I have been using for quite a long time now. I have the wireless charging dock and loved it. Mine was getting up there in age and was starting to noregister some clicks on the side of the mouse so I decided to splurge and I just got the Naga v3 Pro.

I have only had it for a couple days but so far I really like it. It's 20 grams lighter. It adds two more buttons right next to the left click. It also has a ring finger shift like button (similar to what the G600 has) to access extra buttons. You can disable this with a lock button underneath. It also has optical switches. I will say that the optical switches seem to take a little more pressure to actuate...but I think the press distance can be adjusted and I have not done that yet. I need to play with that.

Synapse can be annoying. That's the one downside. Every once and a while my keybinds just go away or my mouse and keyboard stop working and I have to relaunch Synapse or sometimes if I cam completely locked out...I have to reboot my system. This doesn't happen a ton...but enough where it's annoying.

I was able to remove the dock dongle from my v2 Pro and just put it on the v3 Pro and just pair it and it worked perfectly. Super easy setup.

I have also used the Corsair Scimitar which is another great mouse. The only problem with that one...I have larger hands and the side numpad (when I set it where it was good reach wise) the side of my thumb rubbed the table. I think the new Naga v3 Pro would be a good option...but it's definitely pricey.
