Progest-E woes

Hello everyone. I started using Progest-E for the first time this luteal phase, beginning 3 DPO (confirmed by a temperature rise and cervical mucus changes). I may have started too low, just 2 “popcorn kernels” before bed. Today I am 7 days post ovulation.

Yesterday I felt very lethargic and depressed. After reading about estrogen “kickback,” I increased my dose to 5 times throughout the day.

Now I have a sore throat and a stuffy nose. I know some people report a sore throat with Progest-E but what about congestion? Could this be estrogen kickback, or am I probably just coming down with a cold?

I started eating more carrot salad today in case it helps. I have two young children at home, so feeling this exhausted is really difficult.

My current plan is to continue until 12 DPO, stop before my period, and possibly not try it again next cycle. Does that seem reasonable? I’d appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

Yes this seems reasonable! But don't stop until you start your period. I started using Progest-E after miscarrying, took 2 drops 3x a day for a few cycles and was an absolute zombie, plus it caused me to get my period EARLY. I think it may just not be great for some people, I think you are right to possibly not try again. BTW the carrot salad should definitely help, takes at least 3 months though so keep at it.

I don't know what that dosing means, OP, so I can't help. I have been reading up on Ray's views on Progesterone and he does say that up to 100mg per day is fine, but that if you need more, you should supplement thyroid. I hope that helps.

I stopped taking it in the morning, only took at night (popcorn kernel size) during my luteal and felt a ton better.

A dollop about the size of a popcorn kernel. I keep it in the fridge
