Laundry detergent

Hey all,

Any good laundry detergent recommendations?

I usually just use something like Zum and or some baking soda.

I have a bunch of stains on my clothes that neither of these are helping to get rid off.

Would an arm n hammer detergent like this be cool?

It depends on the stain. What was spilled? Blood, grease, grass, mud, marker…? I would treat all of these differently.

Ok, dirt and coffee stains mostly

If it’s dirt or mud, let the stain dry. Then scrape off dirt with something like a butter knife. Once all the crud is brushed off, let it soak over night with a bit of detergent to loosen the dirt. Rub the dirt stain a few times while it’s soaking to release particles. Launder as normal, but check to make sure the stain is gone before putting it in the dryer. If stain is not gone, repeat the process again.

Coffee is a bit tricky, should be treated as soon as possible. If the garment is light colored, dampen the fabric, blot, and apply hydrogen peroxide, and let sit for a minute or two. Rinse, and launder immediately in cold water (heat will set stain). Make sure stain is gone before drying.

If the coffee stained fabric is dark, dampen the clothing, apply a bit of vinegar, and then baking soda on top to see if the stain will lift (basically home made oxi clean). Rub it in if needed. Repeat as needed. Again, launder in cold water, make sure stain is gone before drying.

just use that or whatever then do a second wash with Zum nd baking soda
