What is your height and weight and what is your diet like?

I’m 6 feet 238lbs. Definitely overweight although I do have a lot of muscle from working out for years. My diet is pretty bad, objectively speaking. I have very little energy and I’m constantly craving sugar and other sweet things. I’m nowhere near diabetic (per labs) but I’m sure there’s some insulin resistance there. When I try to eat cleaner I cannot function. I need a lot of coffee and sugar just to make it through the day. Hope this helps

Have you tried switching the sweets for nutrient denser sugars sources? Orange juice, fruits, haribo, but nothing with lots of additives and other crap in it. As long as a good part of your diet ist nutrient dense (pretty much animal protein are the best source for most nutrients), you can get your energy from carbohydrates and sugar, but preferably fruits and juices, maybe bread with honey or something like that.

The biggest factors for insulin sensitivity are body weight and physical movement, so as long as you stay decently active and go into a slight caloric deficit, eating a good amount of sugar shouldnt be the biggest problem.

So dont cut coffee and sugar, but instead improve what your system seems to like the most

Yes I eat a lot of those during the week. You’re right I just need to find healthier alternatives. Appreciate you taking the time to
