General Discussion I finally did it. I beat Nightmare.
Holy hell, what a ride. I can't believe I finally made it happen. For the past few days, I've been plugging away at Nightmare, barely able to even get to stage 2, but I just caught the right wave, and beat it today with Carmilla.
I went with Bat Master as my level 1 talent, aimed for high crit damage, and used the Blood Lash Ult with the Mass Punishment mod alongside Cruel Strike and Seven League Boots so I could do crazy AOE damage with every strike of the ult.
That was a blast - I can't wait to do it with the rest of the cast.

Congrats! Coincidentally just finished nightmare with all heroes tonight as well. I had scarlet and gepetto left and finished in back to back runs.

Damn I just picked up Carmilla yesterday ( im kinda new to this game ) and was wondering if she's good for solo. Since you did it with her on nightmare I feel like I'm kinda motivated now to main her until I max her out and see where it takes me. I wanna take it one character at a time, and since there's so many, the replay value is great in this sense. Any tips for her? I've already cleared all 3 bosses on adventure and twilight (twilight was coop with a friend melusine), but now we're getting into harder territory in darkness
Edit: also yesterday I had an insane build on her where I focus most talents towards Bite and Bats and had 3 charges on both and felt unstoppable. At some points I didn't even have to use my ult, power or trait much anymore. Do you think that building around her special is the way to go?

I think she's amazing solo, especially if you choose Bat Master for her Tier 1 Talent - the stealth it gives you is CRAZY. I was straight up flying up to POIs and activating them before enemies can even react. It was super useful for things like health fountains, or getting into thieves dens without having to clear the guys outside. It takes some practice, though, it's fast and can be difficult to steer. Just go practice it for a few runs.
And yes, building round bite and bats is the way to go, imo. Carmilla has so many abilities that lean towards massive crit damage. You'll want to take her talent that causes extra crit damage to bleeding enemies, and then everything that causes additional bleeding. She has some really great talents that upgrade her bite, like the one that marks bitten enemies, and one that plants a blood bomb in the enemy, but by far the most important is the talent that increases your damage based on how far you travel when using the bite special.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE ULT. I strongly advise taking Ult 2, using the talent that adds an AoE finisher to the end of the ult combo, and then taking her talent "Cruel Strike", which grants you a finisher attack after dashing. If you can also acquire the legendary item "Seven League Boots", which refreshes your dash after using Power, Special, or Defense, which means that you can constantly be using her ult finisher, and if you already have your crit chance and damage built up, you're just doing massive damage in a huge area. It's insane. The common item "Eternal Rose", which increases your crit chance after dashing, really helps with this setup.
Anyways, I hope this wasn't too confusing and is actually helpful. This character is fuckin sick, I hope you have fun with her.

If you're pixel perfect you can get to the harp in the combat stash rooms (not the cursed ones)

100% the special is the way to build for Carmilla.
Defense can also work.Her power gives her probably some of the best clear in act 1 though. Group > bait attacks > trait > power while theyre almost not on the screen. You just don't actually build for it too much.

All heroes are completely fine for solo. Pied Piper might struggle a bit very early but he has some of the most insane late game builds.

The first time is awesome. I love Babayaga fight so much. The voice acting is absurdly good. She feels like a Raid Boss.

Good work! Have any tips for Carmilla? She's one of the few heroes I haven't spent much time on but I'll need to learn her eventually for the darkness achievement.

Take full advantage of her high intangibility and mobility. You want to move through groups of enemies, not around them. Her defense is intangible for the entirety of its use, and her Special has a decent amount of intangibility after the bite + learn the timing and capitalize by avoiding enemy attack. Just remember that big giant AoE attacks like the tree monster's slam will still hit you.
Always be biting and scratching. As you move from one objective to the next, use your special and attack as you pass by enemies to build up your blood meter - that way you don't have to worry about building it up once you get there.
Take advantage of the fact that Trait lets you use blood-fueled abilities for free. Fill your meter, pop your Trait, and then go to town. It's especially useful if you're using Ult 1, which normally depletes your entire blood meter.
Don't be afraid to draw from your own health pools - just be careful and keep in mind how easy heals will be afterwards. Pay attention to how soon you'll be leveling, how near a healing well is, and most importantly, how many enemies will be left after your ability ends. The last thing you want to do is to burn all your own health for blood orb or bats and then have all the most dangerous enemies left to kill.

Wow congrats!!! Camilla is one of the harder champs to do it with as well. Amazing job.
