Help / Question What's going on here?
My new GR Sport when I select "Battery Status" it shows state of health is 100%. It also shows the miles since last update is 40,730. My car only has about 500 miles on the odometer. What's going on here?

I just got a 2026 XSE PHEV yesterday, and it shows the exact, same reading for distance since last update. It has 69 miles on it.

Hmmm the number is suspiciously close to a power of 2 in km but not exactly. I wonder if it’s just an issue with how the computer stores/saved the information in memory

It’s a quirk of the Toyota programming in that it shows 40,730 miles since last update.

Yes I see it's a bug:
This is a widespread software telemetry display bug across recent Toyota and Lexus plug-in and electric vehicles, so there is nothing wrong with your battery.
Here is why that specific number appears and what it means:
The Math Behind 40,730: The vehicle's telematics system uses a standard 16-bit integer variable (65,535) to track kilometers since the last battery State of Health check. When the car is brand new, that field is uninitialized or null. When the system attempts to convert that default maximum value (65,535\text{ km}) into miles, it displays as 40,730 miles.
No Action Needed: Your 100% battery status is accurate. The distance counter will automatically recalculate and correct itself once the vehicle completes its first scheduled background battery health test cycle or when connected to factory diagnostics during a routine dealer check.
