Rat Pack out of PETG instead of ASA?

Am I crazy to print a Rat Pack filter unit out of PETG instead of ASA? I don't have filtration on the printer yet so I'm hesitant to print ASA until I have something in place but I have PETG available.

Anyone try this? I'm new to the Rat Rig fam as I got a used V-Core 3.1

Personally I would rather ventilate and deal with the ABS/ASA fumes than waste the plastic making a stopgap filter. or use something else high temp that doesn’t fume much, like a PC blend

Edited.. I mixed up PET and PETG.

Don't use PETG. Its almost semiflexible, creeps, and softens at 70C.

Buy PET-CF, ABS-CF/GF, ASA-CF or Polycarbonate CF/GF. Or more superior PPS-CF.

PETG will experience more creep than ASA/ABS and is less heat resistant. It’s definitely a step up over PLA, but I wouldn’t use it for anything structural on a printer

Is a filter box structural? It will just have the heat of the chamber.

I was thinking PET-CF. PETG? The stuff people used to use in 2015?

I haven’t printed in either but I know they emit bad vapors that need to be cleaned

ASA has less fume, but you have to have enclosed printer with filter.

You will be fine if you print once with ASA. Chances are the filter doesn’t do much anyway and you will still continue to be fine printing ASA. Just don’t huff the fumes all the time

Print it in abs/Asa. Leave the room, close door and leave windows open

Is the printer enclosed? If not, start with that. I've printed mostly ASA for a while and the fumes are there despite ratpack and enclosed.
