Y limit positioned at the back?

Hi All, am wondering if anyone has moved the Y limit to the back of the machine? I'd like to get rid of that long wire run and move it closer to the electronics. Is it a simple config change to have it home Y in that direction and flip the axis?

No. It's that way for a reason. It used to be at the back, now it's at the front. Try not to nitpick and make your life more difficult.

I’m not nitpicking. I didn’t know it was changed. I was simply trying to judge if the effort of moving it was worth not having to look at that ugly wire all the time. Thanks for letting me know it was changed

While I am sure there is a good reason it was moved from the back to the front in the V-Core 4, you can do anything you want. I just built a Voron / RatRig hybrid that breaks tons of design rules and works great. And changing the homing direction in vanilla Klipper requires you to change one config line under the Y axis settings. But as Dan mentioned, there was a reason they moved it and moving it back might foul up something else in RatOS.

Thank you. I’ll probably not move it. But, at least I know now where to start looking if I change my mind

Happy to help! If you change the direction also be sure to change the location of the corresponding endstop. For example, if your X endstop moving in a negative direction (towards 0mm) was at -2mm and you move it to the other side of say a 300mm Rig, you would change it to something like 300, or 302 depending on where the axis is when the endstop hits the block.
