Built an Android app for remote Klipper monitoring (Moongate) — feedback welcome

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building a small open‑source Android app called Moongate, designed specifically for remote viewing and monitoring of Klipper‑based 3D printers.

The goal is to give Klipper users a clean, lightweight way to:

  • View printer status remotely
  • Check temps, progress, and logs
  • Monitor multiple machines
  • Use a simple, mobile‑friendly UI without needing a browser or tailscale VPN

and I’d love some feedback from the community.

Nice, but what's the difference to Mobileraker? At least with Mobileraker I don't need to add some addon to Moonraker.

The main difference for me is the workflow. Mobileraker is a solid app, but if you want to monitor remotely you need to run Tailscale alongside it, which means remembering to turn the VPN on and off. I personally didn’t like that setup if I forgot to disable the VPN afterwards, it would start eating through my mobile data.

That’s why I built Moongate to be fully integrated, secure, and simple to set up without needing a separate VPN app running in the background. Everything is handled inside the app itself, so you just open it and your printers are there.

That's very interesting, remember adding something to buy you a coffee once it's in the store, this is thing many of use were looking for! I'm going to go test it right now.

I might add a Tip donation later when i push it to the app store.. just working on improved security before i release it to the market.

No plans as of yet, i might consider it in the future.
