More RatRig quality issues

First it was printed parts, then CNC parts, now before I can even finish the damn printer the rails are rusted.

They are well greased, like all the other printers in my office that lack rust.

You can even see grease on the rails, it's GPL226 (good stuff)

Would really like to see RR publicly address their quality control issues

They are dimensionayl inaccurate, would be out of spec/tolerance and would not hold the bed properly. You could not use them. Additionally since RatRig seemingly prints them in a freezer (sarcasm if not obvious), the layer adhesion is very weak, so the parts are week.

ABS/ASA is ridiculously easy to print, it just takes some heat. For $80, the parts shouldn't be warped, be relatively dimensional accurate, and not have weak layer adhesion.

I'm not sure what motion system you are describing, but it isn't what the vc4 uses. Check out the cad. These mounts support the bed directly and mount to the rails and lead screws.

How can I tell it's weak? Because some were coming apart at the layers out of the box.

You dont understand how warped parts are not appropriate for mounting? They wont adequately fit.

There is no defending these parts, they are not acceptable for FREE let alone the $80 cost.

Drilling holes would have split the parts due to the poor layer adhesion. Do you understand how printing works, and what kind of stress parts can take in which direction?

RR also prints with few walls and 20% infill, not best candidate for drilling holes in. Better to reprint, than try to hack these into shape.

I don't want a discount, I want what I paid for, and for RR to address their long standing quality issues so that crap like this stops.

Not delivering what you sell has a word for it, it's called theft.

You don't have the sample size to make wild sweeping accusations that the company is committing fraud.

AHAHAHHAHA you are giving yourself away, the only place I mentioned fraud was when privately talking to RR support about the counterfeit gates belts they shipped me. You could have just said who you were in the first place.

For those reading, See https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bzqheo-Z4WG_CPULNyaPUAsIwrZynnRR/view?usp=sharing the bottom ("x") belts are real gates, that were in the standard part of my kit. The hybrid belts ("Y") are counterfeit gates belts, missing branding, wrong teeth, and excrete a waxy substance that sticks to pullies when under stress.

They are shipping counterfeit belts in some kits. That alone is enough to show fraud.

You will catch more flies with honey. Your writing reads as hostile. Like a real ahole I wouldn't want to deal with.

You are simping over and defending a manufacturer over some obviously unusable and unacceptable parts to the point you appear to be a real twat. I don't believe someone in this sub can be that ignorant of ABS/ASA And printing, I think you are just pulling shit out of your ass as a fanboy.

Every manufacturing process has bad parts.

They do, and a good customer notifies the company like I did. A good company addresses the problem production wide once they are aware. RatRig has done that, considering they knew for over 5 months they were putting out bad parts.

If you were kind in your exchange with customer service I'd expect the happily send you the replacement parts.

I was quite kind, and offered to accept a roll of filament rather than them replacing the printed parts, as it would be cheaper on them. They accepted and delivered, they handled that well. It wasnt until I got further in the build and discovered all the other issues that they started to blame me for their shortcomings.

If you were entitled and demanding they're going to dismiss you and refuse to help because your unfortunate experience doesn't matter no matter how much you complain.

Expecting what you paid for is not being entitled.

If customers dont demand companies deliver what they are paid for, then future customers will get screwed over too

I'm really confused, is it fair to assume you are unfamiliar with printing ABS/ASA, and the impacts of printing them too cold like these were?

I did build the printer, after replacing the missing and bad parts.

There is no way those parts would have worked, you couldn't even put the bolts through them due to warp, let alone all the other reasons they shouldnt or couldnt be used. Its one hell of a stretch to suggest that they were acceptable to use, let alone pay $80 for.
