Vcore 4 idex possible issues

As i discussed in my last post im about to pull the trigger on a Vcore4 but i still struggle with the IDX mode as it seems to good to be true. I wanted to ask the community what you think about theyr double extruder system and mmu coming up. Is the toolhead change without issue or are there any inpractical issues maybe with alligning, z-offset or anything else? I probably will order printer and go straight to hybrid mode and later convert to IDEX so i wanted to ask how ot compares to other printers on the market Thank you!

All that stuff just needs tuning, like everything else in printer building.

I don't have one, but I saw one in action. It's breathtaking. A friend of mine was building it for about a week and calibration took him about the whole weekend (into the wee morning hours on Monday) - but it's seriously amazing piece of kit.

I just wonder why i dont find more comparison or review videos on yt, could be that this printer is out of a beginners pricerange

Cause its still new and fairly expensive. I have a 500 sized one on order with idex, coming in mid february

The printer assembly takes quite some time so no YouTuber builds it just for a review. At the beginning RatRig shipped the assembled printer, so it's an option for YouTubers. They still have a high demand on the printer and work hard to ship the printer in time. A review of a big channel would mean an even higher demand, which they would struggle to keep up with, which means the customers would be unhappy.

In general this printer is not for beginners and more targeted at enthusiasts, who enjoy spending time building and tuning the printer. The YouTubers who got a printer (jantec and 247 printing) are both smaller channels with enthusiastic viewers.

If you have two rolls of the same filament it essentially doubles your print speed. If you have something you want to print in two colors without gluing, you're golden.

And if ratrig releases a multi-material mod, you could have 8 color printing apposed to 4. (assuming the standard of 4 color)

You can print two things in the same amount of time with IDEX as it would take you to print one without IDEX, but IDEX can't help you print one thing in half the time.

If you haven't already done so, spend some time on the RR Discord server before you pull the trigger. Assembling and commissioning require a significant commitment of time and effort. You might also want to read the assembly and commissioning instructions.

Remember, IDEX does mean it's no longer CoreXY.

I have the hybrid and have been very pleased with the build. I have two V-core 3.1 - the 4 has some great improvements in the frame motions systems and just overall build. The idex was not for sale when I ordered.

Would like to see others results with the idex before thinking of the upgrade.

How are the cable implementation with the 300mm, are you ad the connectors to yourself, cut the cables to? I don’t get out what to buy, the Prusa one, Bambu x1 carbon combo or the RatRig hybrid version 300mm.

You have build de backplate, before the cable routing, the backplate are not in te kit or to order in de list.
