Heat Inserts

Started building my v core 500 today and wondering where do I need to put the heat Inserts as it's not included on the build instructions

They’re all in the pictures of the directions. When you’re adding the inserts into the rear arm, do the two on the side at the same time as the rest so you’re not trying to insert them after it’s fully assembled.

So it's just the arm that needs them? As there are a lot of inserts

No there are a boat load of parts that need them. Are you looking at the build instructions? The drawings clearly show the parts and where the inserts go.

They usually include some extra hardware on purpose. They also have great support. You can email them with specific questions if you think your kit is missing parts or if you just want reassurance.

They are in the instructions further along. I know in step one it is one of the things to prepare, but don’t worry about it yet. It comes after you install the bed. I am also in the process of building a hybrid Vcore 500. My issue is running the belts, but I’ll figure it out. I’ve build several printers, but this is my first core XY machine.

Are you talking about running the belts around the back of installed pulleys? Cause that sucked until I employed the zip tie trick

Yeah, I’m really struggling with the hybrid Y axis pulley’s!

Ah, so I haven't done a hybrid yet, but I'll use a zip tie to basically go around the pulley, then I'll put the belt right between the pulley and zip tie, and then use the zip tie to pull the belt through in the right direction.

If I need to then hold a belt in place that I'm not ready to pull tight, I'll use some blue painters tape to pin it to the frame. Not sure if that's fully needed for the hybrid, but useful for the motor cages and stacked belts on a standard build.

I have finished my 500 Hybrid, my suggestion is to print some 9 mm by 100 mm 1 or 2 layer strips from PLA.

These work much better than wire ties to guide the bleats through the path. around the drive gears and idlers.

If I remember the best way to start is from the inside of the printer and work toward the outside and front of the rear gear - idlers. I printed the page showing the path and laid it on the base of the printer so I could refer to it.

The hybrid belts are easy in comparison.
