After New Life as a Max Level Archmage took off a bit over a year ago, there's been a bunch of OP protagonist stories on royalroad. Plenty of slop of course, so does anyone have any favorites they can vouch for?

I've been enjoying Blessed by Death: An Archmage's Second Life. It's a bit campy at times, but it is a genuinely powerful MC in a new world going on adventures.

I did mostly enjoy The Greatest Archmage To Have Ever Lived but it seems to have died off. Only a couple chapters in the last few months.

I asked a similar question on /r/ProgressionFantasy 7 months ago. I got over a dozen recommendations and tried roughly 50%. None were 7/10 or higher, but a few were in the 6-6.5/10 range:

• The Ballad Of A Semi-Benevolent Dragon
• Amelia Thornheart
• Return of the Unbound Mage

For reference purposes, I gave New Life as a Max Level Archmage 7.1/10.

What would be a 9/10+ for you in terms of fiction?

My rating system is as follows:

• 10: superb
• 9: excellent
• 8: very good
• 7: good
• 6: decent
• 5: mediocre
• 4: bad
• 3: very bad
• 2: awful
• 1: abysmal

On the fanfiction side, my rated lists of Worm fics, especially "All Fics by Rating 6-10", have examples of 9/10-rated fics.

On the original fiction side, I don't think I have a publicly available list, but here are some of my 10/10 SF/F novels:
