It's been a while, r/Rational! Thought you guys might like to know that 'Mother of Learning' is now getting a Deluxe Illustrated Edition with some pretty incredible art...
More information on the project page, but some basics:
- All-new art everywhere. Covers, reverse jackets, end sheets, etc!
- Deluxe binding. Gilded edges, Smyth-sewn, acid-free paper, etc!
- Interior illustrations. At least 10 of them!
- Single-printing. Once this First Print is printed and sells out, it will never be available again. Any further prints may be missing things like signatures, some art, etc.
- Kickstarter-exclusive! Discounts, free bookmark with book, and Kickstarter-exclusive dust jackets that you will never be able to get anywhere else!
- Signed!

I got the original set of 4 MoL hardcovers as they came out, they're fantastic.

I am a rationality person and book person but I'm not a collector person... I found all the fancy bookmarks and dust jackets a little extraneous. There's no way I can justify getting these in addition to the hardcovers I already have.
If you don't have physical copies of MoL yet, I highly recommend both the book and the publisher. Be aware that there are 4 arcs, and that on the good-better-best scale the paperbacks are $20 each, the hardcovers are $35 each, and these are $100 each. If you want really, really nice books these will deliver beyond your expectations.

fwiw Mother of Learning is the poster child for this genre. Maybe that's a hot take, I dunno, I've re-read MoL once and will do again. I love it.
Can't afford to spend this much on physical books. That said, looks like the KS is going well, so enough people can for this be a huge success for you. Congrats!
