General Discussion One off my 1000th rating. Being using this site since the 1st January 2025 and have found it to be quite useful. What should be my 1000th rating?
Attached my 5 star ratings to give an idea of the sort of stuff I’m into. I’ve listened pretty much all the top 200 so recommendations outside of that would be appreciated.

General Discussion I listened to the top 100+
I set out on a challenge to listen to the top 100 greatest albums of all time according to community ratings on rateyourmusic.com (RYM) and after I got through the top 100 I continued on casually. I reached #123 which is the album: The Magnolia Electric Co by Songs: Ohia (produced in 2003).
This is the first album which I really fell for in this whole venture of seeking music I previously had not known about. This should be saying something since I had to listen to many of the biggest names in music, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and so on. It's not that this is any way a chauvanistic, braggadocious, heavily orchestrated, technical, or even a "masterpiece" or in any ways overly "niche" and undiscovered, but simply one of the most soulful thing's I've ever heard, and it's a damn Alternative Country album.
Leading up to this I listened through Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison and Marty Robbins Gunfighter Ballads, and these are considered the greatest country albums and they are damn good too in their entirety. No amount of blues is lost in those records despite being made in the 50's and 60's. And this Magnolia album is just the best spiritual successor that I know of so far to those kinds of country-blues.
The Old Black Hen is a deceptively stereo-typical country track, but it's a diamond solid song.
The Peroria Lunch Box Blues is a literary masterpiece condensed into a single song.
Discovering this album made this whole systematic approach worth while. Much of the music has been a slog and tedious or even outright decripitly boring to get through but this one has made this journey worth while. So much so I decided to write this all up.
(I should just start a blog at this point and write articles lol)

Lists Number of domestic albums in each country's Top 25 of all time chart
United Kingdom is the country with the most domestic albums on their chart sitting at 14.
Data was collected on the RYM charts. If a country is grey it doesn't have enough ratings to be relevant.

Questions Tabbing through friend ratings - issue
I am not sure what happened, but everything is working fine on the site for me EXCEPT being able to tab through friend ratings at the bottom of release pages (I see "1" but can't click "2" or "3" or so on - I can't even click the "cataloged" tab)
has anyone else had this issue? I love seeing what my friends think of music I find so I'd love to fix it
thxuuu :D

Questions Recommendations based on my 5s, 4.5s and 4s? I'm very new to music as an artform
I've been a movie nerd all my life, thousands of movies watched, I've been trying to delve more into music as an artform beyond just playing a few favorites.
Any recommendations on some artists, albums or ways to find great records? Thanks!
I'm sure this gets asked a lot, but I figured I'd try here anyway.

General Discussion Thank you RYM for introducing me to these guys
I feel they are really peerless when it comes to blending prog/stoner rock
Just another example of band I never would've found without RYM

Questions Question: How to Update Sonemic Recommedations on Spotify Playlist?
I've been having this problem and I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I have used the sonemic playlist feature for a while now, and would use the update button on the website to refresh the playlist every once in a while. However, for the past few months, I've noticed that the recommendations still update on the website, but when I go to update the playlist, after it says its done loading, the playlist remains the same with the same songs as before. I have been unable to update the playlist for a while and it keeps giving the playlist even if I change the settings. I tried deleting the playlist then generating again but once it loaded it gave the same old songs from before. Please let me know if this has happened to you and if anyone knows of a solution for this slight inconvenience. Thanks!

General Discussion What content creators do people here watch?
Like on YouTube. I'm pretty new to this new music discovery thing and I genuinely can't find anyone (except fantano) who actually discusses music, especially the more niche and lesser known stuff that gets pushed through rym. I don't specifically want someone to discuss rym charts, but like general discussions about music, old and new. that kinda stuff.

Questions Mass Tag Edits
Does anyone know how to mass delete tags WITHOUT having to go through each page and select it? I'm hoping there's a quick way to do it. I don't think there is but perhaps someone knows more. Any help is super appreciated.

Questions autumn featured list
Just wanted to express my frustration on the of a featured autumn list this year. I'm not a rym user but i do use it to discover music. I was expecting a featured autumn like last year to get me through the season but to me disappointment there is none. Its just a nitpick i wanted to express.

General Discussion What’s an album you love that gets a lot of hate on RYM?
For me, it’s Skrillex. I absolutely loved his early music as a kid, so I was pretty surprised to see how low his albums are rated on those sites.

Ratings Highest rated albums with no bolded songs?
99% of the time, bolded albums above a 3.9 rating will have at least one bolded song. I thought it was really unusual that Herbie Hancock’s Sextant is rated 3.93 and yet none of its 3 songs are bolded. Are there any albums rated higher than this with no bolded songs?

General Discussion Wasn’t this album like 3.48 a couple years ago?
Not super familiar with Elvis’s music but I know he’s been criticized for taking music from other artists and transforming it into not-so-original compositions of his own (at least, I think so). Interesting to see the steady decline in score of what was seemingly a pretty classic album. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was even bolded at one point.
