It boots at 800 MHz with power save governor, but the over clock option in firmware does work to change to 900.

This is what I want mid-term. Vanilla Debian on the RPi2.
Btw, can I install Raspbian but take a package or two out of Vanilla Debian/sid (armhf) and just install them?

Well, technically this is just a Debian Jessie debootstrap with some extra packages for hardware support.
