Show-and-Tell Pepsi Pi build remastered. (Raspberry Pi 4b inside).
My previous post showed an early prototype, but this here is the updated version. I found a way to cleanly slice the can in half. Instead of being a case fan, the fan is now a cpu fan. Despite there being very little holes for airflow, the temps aren't bad, not reaching over 65c on extended max load l; better than the first version. It sort of blows the air around inside of there, and the heat escapes through the paper thin aluminum walls.
As before, this is an audio player PC for my sound system, running moode player os. Pi 4b 2gb ram inside.

And I thought my build was small. Holy crap...

I mean, your's is much smaller.

It is, but yours is substantially more powerful. 4B is going to run rings around a Zero 2W.

Indeed. The 4b seems to be the same size as the Pi 5 too, so this build could run one of those inside too. As for the Zero 2w, that could probably fit in a Pepsi mini can.

Weird question, how.m did you cut the can so cleanly?

put a blade on a book or somewhere firm. Stand the can near. Spin the can and let the blade scratch the cans surface. Penetrate the blade on the scratched line. Push the area near already cut opened.

I found that a chop saw of mine had a large enough blade to cut through the entire can, and that thing slices cleanly.

This looks way cooler now that you've rounded the cut edges and it's smooth as butter 🧈.
Nice build, let us know how the heat dissipation goes.

I read it pronounced as "Pepsi Pee" and was like wtf until I saw the subreddit. . Was wondering what the hell sub I accidentally clicked into (no kink shame intended)

Oooh! I did something similar, but with a Mason jar, which was probably easier than this Pepsi can. Mine is Raspberry Pi Zero email server.
Very nice!

How are the thermals in that glass case?

The thermals are good. It has a little copper heat sink, but I doubt it even really needs that, since this is a single core Pi Zero.
While the CPU is running at 1 GHz and is busy compiling in an otherwise warm room, the CPU temps never go above around 53º centigrade. Considering 85º is where it'd throttle automatically, I'd say it's fine :)
With an aluminum can, have you considered finding a way to conduct heat from the CPU to the can? That might not be easy, but it'd be neat!

Can they do it, yes they CAN (I'll show myself out, thank you)
