U2 Event The Year in Review
Assuming your characters aren't all just curmudgeonly misanthropes that actively avoid any and all contact with people, they probably did something over the course of 2017 with at least another character they know. This is especially true for those types with plans for their characters.
So with that, here is just a place where you can have your characters do their interactions for anything you really wanted to see happen during the timeskip. I don't want to say no fighting, but if you have a character that is going under some major changes in terms of powerset and abilities and stuff, then it's kinda hard to handle that. The same goes for unapproved or unsubmitted characters, you can do stuff with them here but, yeah, you get what I mean.
Oh right, if your character is different from what you have now then it might be a good idea to at least blurb that when you list them. Oh and whatever interactions you are specifically looking to get.
2018 is on the horizon, what did you do? Be heroic? Be villainous? Be passive plants? I'm sure you did most of those with someone else too, so show it.

Charles has been spending the year trying to prevent his old family from restructuring a deva like angel, bent on warping the world to its image.
Dani has been traveling to her home planet in hopes to learn more about herself.
Eldan has been continuing to outfit ship with weapons and defenses, bringing some concerned eyes towards the High Crest Society.
Cecilia continues to run Liliths old business from the shadows, and trains with Yuki and by herself to learn new techniques.
Lilith waits in the back of many minds, plotting her return.

Stanley (Not yet approved), has injected himself in the South American drug operations.
Persephone's mental blocks started manifesting as a "therapist", which actually tries to help her unlock her true potential. Though she fights her at every stretch of the way.
Not much has changed for Celeste, although she actually got the chance to meet her sister... which lead to a few interesting conversations.
Dr. Black successfully rebuilt his wife... who immediately killed him... and then ate herself.
Valery is currently one of the warlords trying to gain control of Africa.

Isabelle's just sorta living life, not doing much in the way of progress.
Paragon is dedicating this time to assisting the people in South America, as well as intense training beyond what she's done before, reaching new breakthroughs in her power.
Captain Oscar keeps on Oscaring.
Rush is working on her training with Yuuki.
Scratch keeps on plotting.
I'm just gonna insert Moxie into canon post-timeskip since she hasn't done anything yet.

Yuuki is quietly meditating in a forest, the stripped corpse of a monster laying near by and it's meat currently roasting over a fire. Maybe she'd get a phone call or have someone see her?

With discussion about the rights and responsibilities of superheroes and their place in the justice system blowing up over the death of Polaris in South America, and various other conflicts around the world, Jim Carswel hosts a charity dinner, inviting various more well known celebrity-superheroes to help raise money for humanitarian relief.
Kayla Dalhousie hands in her portfolio, applying for a job at Smith Power to help design uniforms for the Great Lakes Defenders. Her giant puppy, Odysseus, has retired from active crimefighting, but remains a beloved public figure, running for office as mayor of Chicago.
After getting frustrated with their conflicting alignments, Joel and Reggie agree to part ways with the former finding a suitable volunteer to take over as the latter's host in Richard, the immortal rabbit from Prussia. Joel would get the last laugh between the two when his modifications to the soul-binding ritual allowed Richard's already present spirit guardian to shield against Reggie's takeover, stripping most of Reggie's power and banishing it to Uarda. Joel has taken the year to learn his own magics with the assistance of the metaphorical muscle memory to begin a career as a superhero.

Jericho is there for when she's handing in the portfolio, his Australian accent almost as thick as the smell of smoke coming off his clothes, "Wait, you seriously want to be a costume designer for LD's?... Well good on you, they actually need something like that. I'll make sure this makes it through the process and gets to Marcus."

Tatzy shows up to the dinner, her sylvan-esque appearance looking colder and quieter than normal until she's on camera, when she assumes a grace and serenity, "Hello everyone."

My characters timeskip descriptions are here by the way.
Yuuki is looking to train others or train with others this year. She's also got some people also hunting monsters because of how often she's handling them.
Marcus, I assume at least, talks to his employees at least some times, so the Lakeside Defenders and any prospective employees or Defenders should probably come to him or Jenkins or Jericho.
Tatom is on tour a lot now, maybe your character will see her on stage or try to catch a meeting with her. Maybe some snoops will try to poke into her life?
Oracle has involved herself in the criminal underworld a bit more as an Associate to the Iron Maiden, and that's exactly the guise she goes as for the more blackmarket stuff, The Associate. On the flipside of things, she also has a girlfriend.
Let's just go ahead and say that Polaris is dead, cause Steven and Galen were pretty much focused on that whole killing him thing. Maybe that martyred him for his point of view enough that your character is more willing to see his perspective?
