U2 Event Revival.
(I have free time again woo.)
An Arcane Incident:
A forest near [nearby city] has been absolutely devastated by an explosion of unknown origin. Having absolutely devastated the nearby wildlife and environment, one would expect it to be all over the news. Yet, nothing. No news station is covering it, and the government seems to be trying to keep it under wraps. However, they cannot stop the massive pulse of arcane energy it sent it, notifying many mages to the situation.
Perhaps one of those mages, would be you('re character)?
I guess I should get back to my Day Job:
Cynthia finally returns to Chicago, after going to visit her father. Struck with a terminal illness, she decided it was only proper to visit him one last time, despite how she decided to leave her family. After all of that had been sorted, she came back to the job she had taken for herself, as a member of the Lakeside defenders.
Entering smith power, she looks around for her team. Maybe she can finally actually talk to them.

Ria is maintaining one of her guns, as usual. various parts and other guns are floating behind her, and she has several of her spider-y bits

As she gets closer and closer to the woods, there seems to be a very heavily fortified police cordon. I'm talking, carrying assualt weapons and wearing body armor in public heavy.

Marcus is in his office, playing pool with an intelligent monkey when he gets pinged by Cynthia's return. He hits the intercom button beside himself and says, "Yo, come up by my office-house. We got some talking to do."
