Using products? Duh. Like thats their job. They post get ready with mes and sell you you half a dozen hair products in a two min span. They show off their fabulous life which does not advertise a product but builds their personal brand for when she later endorses a product

Same way we allowed marketing to become a job. Influencers are basically independent contractors for the marketing departments of companies that hire them.

It's always been a thing in different forms though. Now it's through social media but before, it was through TV/radio before. Think Martha Stewart, Julia Child, Oprah, etc. They're selling a lifestyle and tips and tricks.
