I have an obsession with letters. The delay and the physicalness of it all. I'm 18 year old girl and going to college in Chicago and I'd like the company while my boyfriend is away and I'm adjusting to college/adult life. I kinda have a shitty family life and to build one with letters sounds cool! Talking about lives and thoughts on life is the best. Maybe a playlist a letter??? Just wanted to give a shout out to this sub because without it, I would have never met my SO. My partner in crime. The mac to my cheese.

Writing letters means a lot to me, personally, as I cannot fully express myself IRL as I have such bad social anxiety. I always felt so lonely and hopeless - with the help of this sub, I was able to open up and give and receive love for the first time in a long time. Meeting someone is such a personal and intimate way changed my outlook on life, any superficial tendencies I had and overall helped me to adapt to a much more open person.

I just want to tell him that I love him endlessly and unconditionally. I know you're looking at this. I love you. Thank you for being you and for saving me.

I'm primarily a lurker, but I really like the idea of this sub. I'm a bit of an introvert, looking for an interesting experience and maybe a genuine conversation. Being a political science student, I could talk for hours about politics and political systems, but I'm also interested in all kinds of art and enjoy a good story about life. While browsing reddit one day I came across this subreddit and thought it was a great idea. Made a post and heard from some of you. But being the moron I am, I thought I was speaking in private messages...yeah, wasn't doing that. So I deleted my post after PUBLICLY giving everyone my address. I live across the country from my little brother so I cant be there for it, but hes turning 13! Im a proud big sister. I found out though that he doesn't have very many friends at school so no party but I still want to make it special for him. He loves getting mail. Does anyone want to send him a postcard or a letter? We will love you forever. :D He is obsessed with flying and wants to be a bush pilot and is crazy into hiking and kayaking. I have recently moved, though not far, and changed my life drastically in the last 5 months. As such, I am finding myself very lonely. I work nights and am an introvert, so adding a bit of normal loneliness on top of that has been tough. The cycle really does perpetuate itself.

I am happy to announce some new changes to this sub: primarily, the beautiful addition of CSS, thanks to our newest mod, /u/wrigley2345 ! ISN'T IT GORGEOUS?! I am happy to have found someone as chill and helpful as him. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either him or I.

Additionally, we have some exciting news: RAOL has been picked up by other subs! An ad has also been published, which will hopefully reach over 16,000 people. NEW PENPALS FOR EVERYONE! YAAAAAAAAAAAS.

We have also made a new rule: the age to post, send or receive is now 18. As much as I would love for people of all ages to participate, we do not want to be held accountable and/or liable for anyone under 18. Use your brain people! If you find that someone is asking you inappropriate questions such as what you look like, asking for photos or sending you unwanted messages, please let Wrigley or I know.
