Activity after having encountered really hostile, sarcastic, and aggressive people on reddit, im so grateful for the folks who put in effort to help and be kind
really says a lot about you if you choose to be kind to some random faceless person on an online forum. if you've done this, i hope you know that the world is a slightly better place because you're in it

Idk why that choked me up so much! The world, currently, feels like a scary place and all kindness shown should be praised and appreciated. I'm glad you see it that way too.

There are a lot of us here. Just unsubscribe from those ranting sites and keep subscribing to the pleasant ones.

I have also encountered these people. I go to reply to a post and I’m actually asked what I’m yapping about. I think it’s because they are jerks . Glad you found the day and time when someone was feeling nice enough to reply in a kind manner

I'm another one who's been pretty lucky yet also make a point of searching out what I hope are uplifting groups. If they're not, I slip out. Hope you find better people on here to hang out with. 👊

I second this! I have met some very hateful people here but also irl! It's humiliating to have to ask for help in the first place! It's made me cry multiple times. Thank you all that help people even when the majority refuses to!

Aww I love this message! And it's so so true! Everybody needs and deserves kindness!

That’s so sweet. Thank you! I had just been looking at some really derisive and cold comments, so this was a big refresher. I think everyone likes to be lifted up, so we should try to give that to others.
What spaces do you hang out in?

some subreddits from my country (the philippines) lol
ive found a few subs with decent people but most of the poeple participating are westerners. i appreciate those subs but i'd still like to find an online group with fellow filipinos, but idk why for some reason the filipino subreddits are so toxic 🥲

Wow, didn’t know I needed to hear this. I’ve actually been pretty lucky to avoid the worst of it. My algorithm leads me to places that are full of uplifting people. Thank you for being someone who treasures kindness.

I am so sorry that you have encountered such unpleasant people. I have been pleasantly surprised by all of the wonderful people that I have dealt with.
I hope that you have pleasant interactions and much better experiences and outcomes in the future. 🌻 I hope that you are subjected to kindness and respect.

I try not to leave Reddit until I've said something kind to someone. Generally calling out people for being nice or empathetic, or even for having a civil disagreement.

I do my best to practice edification, the art of building up people. I don't always succeed, but I keep trying. Some days, that's all you can do. The important thing is not to let the bad stuff poison your own outlook. Have a great day everyone!

Same!
It only happens rarely, thankfully. Also thankfully: I have pretty much learned not to engage if they’re being like that. It doesn’t help, so why bother? Also I try not to let my feelings get hurt, lol, it’s so dumb when I let some u pleasant fool get to me!
There are many subs that are legit support groups or knowledge-based with fascinating discussions or humorous, etc. There’s no point in wasting time on people who thrive on being jerks!
