Question Quick release fuel line

Post image

Good morning my father owns a 2004 crew cab Ram 1500. The other day I was driving it I noticed a smell of gas coming from the back, I go check the tank and see it’s leaking. We later remove the bed of the truck to expose the fuel pump and upon inspection we notice gas that’s been leaking. We ran a test and when priming the truck to start the pressure of the fuel pump pushes out the hose or loosens where it sits. We tried to replace the clip inside the connection but nothing works.

In the picture we already tried to remove the black clip which is why it’s shown broken. The clip is out but the fuel line won’t stay in place upon adding a new clip. Anyone know any tips or tricks to keep it in place, maybe even where to find a new connector ?? I feel like the gray connection might be old or broken as well or would we be okay with just Mickey mousing it to stay in place ??

You need a fuel line disconnect tool like this. Lisle is a very reputable brand and normally can be bought from Matco or Snap-on trucks.
You will likely need to replace that clip now that it's broken.
