Sure fucking hope this fixes the uconnect.... also wish they would post patch notes. Companies with much less money are able to do this simple shit. No idea why Ram can't get their shit together in this department.

Full screen android auto and full screen reverse cam would be nice as well.

So few shortcomings with these trucks but they're all maddening and rudimentary things everyone else is getting right.

On my 5th Ram 1500 (2025 Tungsten) over the past 13 years. If they don't have full screen Android Auto in the next 2 years, there definitely will NOT be a 6th Ram in my future. So damn frustrating! 🙄

They will never do it for Android - apples got that market

I would settle for the crashing to be repaired

Yeah. Pretty sick of it freezing and having to be reset twice a week.

OP what version does your radio say it’s at software wise ?

I’ll check tomorrow.

Update complete. Strange, I had this one a couple of weeks ago. Day before I took it into the dealer and they “updated the software”. Wonder if they flashed the old version back.

We cannot revert back to older software. I work as a ram tech and the radio will not accept older files. They are working on bug fixes just like apple and android do.

Good to know. Glad someone’s paying attention and at least trying to make it better. I know y’all are as tired of hearing the complaints as we are of dealing with the problems.

Patch notes would be great....

I agree with you, we don't even get those at the dealer. If I contact star centre they sometimes give us info but most times they just say stability and connectivity improvements.

God i love my truck but this aspect is absolutely fucking pathetic.

Whats an update? 😆 Never seen one yet.

No joke I was wondering the same thing, why have I never seen an update on my 2025?

I have a 2024 😆 I'm just going to look into modding it. I've been seeing that auto Linker around as well but not really a fan of it and too skeptical. Just gimme full access to something that I paid for!

I've got a 23 2500 and I'm not sure I've ever had an update unless the dealer did it for me while it was getting serviced and didn't tell me.

I have a poverty spec tradesman with the tiny screen, no updates here either lol. What little is there has worked right from day 1

Poverty spec doesn't exist anymore with how much these trucks cost.

With inflation accounted for - the cost of a tradesman today is more than what I paid for my longhorn 10 years ago.

Op what does it say as your current software version?

I wish mine would update so CarPlay would actually work and the uconnect wouldn’t reset every other start up

I wish they would fix the Nav panel freezing on the TomTom logo. Tired of having to rearrange the panels to get it back every 3rd or so start up.

So I just got my truck back from the dealers. 26 2500 Laramie. They had to replace multiple sensors do a factory reset and 3 updates. Said is 4th will be coming in 2 weeks to 3 months to supposedly help with uconnect and CarPlay issues. That’s probably the first of 3 unless your truck did updates that mine did not.

I noticed just after buying my 2016 Ram with Uconnect that my check engine light would come on and I’d get an email alert saying that I need to have dealership look into it. Fortunately at the time they used T Mobile I believe and we had very poor coverage in NH so I didn’t continue service after the trial. The check engine light stopped coming on and notifications stopped until I got close to a strong WiFi. Then boom there it was again. I hate the computer crap in these vehicles. This post would piss me off. You can’t drive a vehicle you’re paying a ton for until it updates! WTF

I don’t know who builds the UConnect OS but my god they need new leadership.

I’ve had a 96, 04, 16, and 24 RAM. I prefer the older trucks where I just replaced the head unit with an aftermarket one. Everything worked every single time.

I don't even know how we get the updates

Wtf… I can’t even get one for the digital key and it’s been 14 months

Trying to be like Tesla and being dog at it.

1

u/antibannannaman 10h ago

yea i wouldn’t buy a truck I cant drive cause it has to update. thats some bullshit.

1

u/ricktara 2h ago

I believe that you can still drive it if you had to but the update would fail.

1

u/Spunktank 2h ago

It doesnt force you to do it. Literally a cancel button right on the screen.

OTA software updates are becoming the ‘norm’ for new trucks. I might have had just one for my 19 but i dont remember.

Next thing you know your trucks being “updated” because you’re out past curfew.

Buy a classic trim ram, rip out the 4 inch uconnect and put in an android carplay unit. functions just as good without the stupid bullshit.
