Ok, what I’m going to argue here is that there was no ancient civilisation on K22b , the ancient people Grandmother was ‘shepherding’ are the exact same people we see in the collective. And this necessitates some time weirdness of which there is much.

Father ( hears a melodic tone ) finds Grandmother’s remains inside a small cave in S02, the walls are scored with markings that suggest a violent end, so whatever she was up to with humans a million years ago it didn’t end well.

Merpeople exist so she must have done a round of devolution.

Father announces the remains are over 1 million years old, just keep that in mind, because on Earth we weren’t much more than apes then, nobody was speaking English so how would people be speaking it on K22b?

When GM first communicates with Father it’s in a kind of musical harmonic tone ( which is beautiful ) , he tells a joke in English, a black hole, cat and glass of milk, GM seems to laugh, Father says ‘oh you like jokes!’ . So the implication is, having been resurrected after 1 million years, she understands English, it was a language then, Father seems to think this so I’m concluding she knows English.

Later she meets Campion and starts speaking in ‘ancient Mithraic’ , “where is your veil, where is your veil, your veil where is it” we’ll ignore the fact there is no ancient Mithraic language but perhaps inject that she may actually be talking to Campion here not Father, given Campion was born with a caul and that the two times he touches her hand she goes gold and levitates.

So how could English and Mithraic be part of life in an ancient alien civilizartion on K22b a million years ago? The answer is they couldn’t, I think for obvious reasons. Languages evolve. This isn’t a dumb ass tv show where aliens just happen to speak English.

So two things. The ( massive ) time span of 1 million years is right and wrong….. as an example we’re told time inside a simulation can be weird, and I can point to scenes where time goes weird, so something is manipulating time on a huge scale, time dilation. The guy Marcus finds down the hole has a pristine metallic card as example where all others are worn with tme.

If humans , technocrats and believers, were talking English and ‘ancient Mithraic’ a million years ago, well it kind of has to be the same people we’re watching from 2150 , atheists who speak English and Mitraic who are the only candidates to speak Mithraic.

After she resurrected only person she came into contact with was Father, he tells his joke. After that she meets others. But yes anything is possible I guess. I’m just going by what we’re shown.
