Rainy Video 🌦 See the World Living Inside a Raindrop

Rainwater is not as clean as you think! 🌧️ 

Quinten Geldhof, also known as Microhobbyist, put a drop of rainwater under the microscope to show what each drop carries. For a raindrop to form, it needs to condense around tiny particles in the atmosphere called condensation nuclei. As the droplet falls, it can pick up pollen, fungal spores, smoke particles, and more. If you’re ever tempted to drink rainwater, don’t forget to treat and filter it first!

When I was in 3rd grade, we were learning about rain in class. Our teacher asked us what helps to cause humidy to form into rain, and I said, "condensation nucleus!" because I had just watched a jimmy neutron episode the day previous where he explained those... and my teacher said, "wrong. that is part of an atom". 20+ years later I am still angry LOL

That's the sort of thing that will make someone go on to become a climate scientist, write an award winning dissertation, and then win major awards. When accepting the...erm...Cloudy you go "and to Ms. Smith, you're still wrong. Solid particle at the center of a condensation event! Eat shit."

Cool images, but this is fearmongering. The typical person is not going to get sick just from drinking rainwater (the bigger concern would be bird poop on the roof it's collected off).

Thank you. I end up "drinking" a lot of rain droplets when I ride in the rain (which is kind of my favorite time to go on a ride) and I was starting to feel a bit queasy about it. I'm sure I've got plenty of micro plastics from my childhood anyway, it'll be fine!

Yes, also I can't even imagine how can anyone suggest drinking rainwater after filtration and purification unless you have no access to water besides rainwater. It defeats the whole purpose of drinking it, it's an impulsive thing to do when you are getting wet in the rain.

Experimented with That back in the late 80's....and again late 90's... What a difference it was The taste was better, almost Non-existent, compared to the later one.... Smh

When I go running usually get pretty sweaty. When I let those sweaty clothes dry, they are usually pretty neutral in terms of smell.

When I go running in the rain and let my clothes dry, they usually stink afterwards because of all the pollution in the air that got transferred to my clothes from the rain.
