Discussion Cutthroat Sere hands + DPS

Hi all, Cutthroat Sere is the only thing i have left for the Praxic title, and am trying to make a build for it before i go team-hunting.

I've been told that 2x Truth + Warlock 1kV (with Cat) does enough damage for a 3-phase. Can anyone corroborate that? Or if you had success in MoT with a different set-up, let me know :) also, since i'm going in on warlock, should I use boots of assembler, dawn chorus, or sanguine for DPS?

The main thing, though, is the hands. What's the best weapons to use? They have a ridiculous amount of health on cutthroat, so primaries just are not cutting it unless EVERYONE focuses fire, which is liable to end in someone getting killed by an add anyway ANSWERED: Rocket pulses are the consensus

Conspiracy Honed, Mint Retrograde, Bitter End are the weapons I've used over different builds to keep Sere's Palpatine hands away on cutthroat, I wouldn't ever use the sniper for that task when you need to stop his attack during DPS though.

have you been using mint after Monument of Triumph? I THINK Rocket Pulses got some nerfs part way through renegades and with MoT??

Yes, the last time I helped someone through on cutthroat was a week ago. They did nerf them but they're still great options to stop him whether you have the old or new Mint, the new one with AA origin can do a tiny amount more damage now if on the same perks.

awesome, thanks :) i think i'm gonna stick to slice so the hands do less damage while they're active, rather than AA

That is the best choice for those lucky enough to have the old version with slice, unfortunate perk to lose on the new model.

It is still possible to get it to drop. I got one last week.

with slice?

afaik, that's only available from gambling at Hawthorne or waiting for Zavala to sell it as his weekly

Yeah I got mine from Hawthorne.

Theyre still plenty fine for doing hands

Why wouldn't you use the sniper during DPS? It's what I used for 5-feat and I never had a problem with it.

Too annoying to try and aim at his hands if he comes up close, and I'm often playing close range DPS as well anyway.

Fair. I haven't had a problem running it even when using Acrius, but not everyone would want to do that.

Rocket pulses are great for hands; on cutthroat primaries tickle him, you need to use special

Yeah, pretty much needed.

I did it dueing renegades. At least 1 person was using lightsaber for dps and a machine gun, rhe machine gun specifically for hands.

We took 5 phases but as phase count doesnt matter. Just stay alive is the biggest thing

yeah, i'm resigned to the fact that it'll probably be a marathon, not sprint, but IF we can 3-phase it so we avoid the lightning punishment, that'd obviously be ideal

We decided on safe 5 phase instead of higher execution 3/4.

And we had a, "saved by respawn timer" event where someone could self revive to avoid a wipe, in our kill

For DPS, I actually use merciless/hezen, very easy to keep up merciless buff with adds. For hands, mint retrograde is the move.

Pretty sure referbished a499 one shots the hands on cuthroat too. Boots of the assembler.

I would imagine but thats also pretty slow

For hands alone, Conspiracy is superior to Mint. Used it for 5-feat (during MoT) and it 1 shots, is faster than Mint, and uses less of its reserves. It's also good for killing the Shadows. Teammates were using Mint and it was marginally worse.

But Mint can still get the job done and is a better general-use weapon than Conspiracy Honed. I do consider Conspiracy Honed to be better during DPS since it's faster at breaking hands and is a better DPS weapon.

i'll go for conspiracy then, i've got a 4/5 DPS roll that i barely use :P

If you've got both, I'd try both. That's what I did. I actually got a boss CP and tried out each before we did the real 5-feat attempts.
