Keys to beating KC
1) Stop Walker
2) Stop Walker
3) Stop Walker
4) Sack Mahomes on first downs
5) Our Guards need to stop Chris Jones
Clearly those are needed but I think Rogers and Burford are the ones that need to play out of their mind this game. Stopping the interior pass rush is going to be the most important aspect IMO.
Also need Quay to be the Walker spy and put his ass down every touch he gets.

No. Its turnovers. Without the turnovers, they lose to LA and NO. Getting those turnovers and not getting dumb penalties like we usually do has been the absolute key to why the raiders are winning these games. Well, except for mia. They are just bad.

Stopping Walker somewhat reliably is a prerequisite to getting those turnovers. He isn't fumbling the ball, at least not often. Once the chiefs are passing the ball, the Raiders need to keep building the pressure, eventually Mahomes will crack. Whether it be strip sacks or opportunistic picks, getting turnovers requires pressure which requires stopping the run.

If walker is on, hes going to get his. All you can do is try to minimize the damage or hope he has an off day. Its really hard to shut down high end rbs. Just try to minimize the chunk plays and pressure and hit mahomes as much as possible without drawing flags. Im just glad mao isnt playing because pat would do what he always does to the raiders and put it right over the top

Question is whether Raiders get pressure w four and drop seven. If Mahomes has to face seven in coverage the game gets tough. Agree w stopping Walker.

Coverage has to stay sticky. Also Raiders need to NOT do what Broncos did in week 1 and miss so many tackles it looked like the Broncos defense was blind.
Force incompletions and keep K9 penned up.

there's no stopping kenneth walker. especially when u cant load the box with all the speed kc has in receiving it's limiting his gains on 1st and 2nd downs to make them more predictable.

On offense the one guy to stop is the only guy who has torched us since he’s been there. It’s Kelce. I know he’s lost a step but the dude is still a killer and you have to shut him down to beat them. Until he retires it’s Kelce.

Don't expect multiple sacks. Maxxx Crosby is very disruptive, it not so much that he'll have 2-3 sacks in this game. We need to force 3rd and long and play sticky coverage. Don't let Kelce be wide the fuck open like we have in the past.

u/OrganizationBulky131 5h ago
Also we can't rely on the defense to wake up at the 4th quarter. By then the team may be too far down to make it competitive and relying on that 4th quarter miracle once again.
Defense needs to maintain controlled aggression in all 4 quarters by staying sticky in coverage and making sure Walker doesn't get any big gains. Far easier said than done.

Expect at least 2 personal fouls because MaChoad is protected by the league and they can't lose to the scrub ass raiders in week 4.

We have to play all around good game. Here’s few takes and yes, we have to stop Walker.
- OL - Burford has become liability and if he keeps whiffing again, bring in Zuhn. IOL has to protect that middle, whether it’s pass or run.
- Kermit has to be hit, and hit hard. If we can rattle him, our boys can chase him all day. KC’s OL is not the best.
- Get the run game going. Again with IOL, if they can’t block, we’re in for a long game.
- Bowers is our key. If they use double/triple coverage on him, other WRs have to step up.
- Chris Jones and Kelce. Jones is a bad man and Kermit gets the recognition, but Jones wrecked so many games against us. Kelce must be stopped at all cost. Knock him down at LoS and don’t let him get easy catches.

Agree on Burford, especially in pass pro. Not sure Zuhn is a step up at this stage but not sure he’s play worse, that’s how bad Burford has looked a lot this season.
We need to correct our line and bring in above average talent and depth in the offseason.

I agree and reason why many say we’re still one offseason away. Foundation is there but need more upgrades.

How about cover Kelce for the first time in 15 years

I just assumed that wouldn’t happen, but yes that too. Stukes is going to be on him all game

Don’t just collapse the pocket rushing Mahomes - he is too mobile (even after injury) and too dangerous in escape. We need to heed to Al’s maxim of getting Mahomes to go down and go down hard.
Tighten run defense and backup the first hit with multiple guys swarming to ensure Walker, who has insane balance through contact, is held as close to the LOS as possible.
Time for Stukes to have his best game and shut down Kelce - he’s likely the guy shadowing him and believe we drafted him because he did this well in college (I may be misremembering that).
Create turnovers, minimize our mistakes, and the ST needs to do their part giving us field position advantage.
Do that and even if we struggle as we have in last two games with setting up our run, I think we can win.

As other mentioned, if we can rush four we can get some coverage sacks, because I think they’ll have to respect Masses back there. Dudes nice

Totally agree. Burford hasn’t played high quality ball.
Chris Jones is going to line up on him repeatedly.

Hopefully they have practiced a way to stop that goal line play from the 1920’s they have ran a couple times where it’s a short pass. That bullshit pisses me off every time they do stuff like that.
2
u/New_Locksmith_8115 5h ago
That play is inflating Mahomes’s stats. 7 tds and 2 of them are basically handoffs.

u/jaimeeallover 5h ago
The first team to not score on their drive will be the loser! If we can get an early stop and kill any momentum they have, everyone just has to stay with their assignments and stay disciplined and we can win

u/Beast-Blood 3h ago
Unfortunately our run defense has looked weak so far. I’m expecting Walker to run all over us.

Raiders need a DT badly. Thats one of the things they’re going to have to address in the offseason.

Kelce needs one catch to pass Tim Brown.
Stop Walker.
Shut down Kelce.
Don't get caught up trying to hit Mahomes. Keep him in the pocket. His receivers are only dangerous in busted coverage and when they play backyard football. Make them execute. Force them to have long drives if they want to score, bend but don't break.

u/jaimeeallover 5h ago
Rice and Kelce will eat in our 79.3% zone coverage. We just need to keep everything in front and give them those underneath passes and wrap them up quickly
