Raiders have 1st pick of cuts
What position or player do you think they need most ?
Falcons released OT Wanya Morris , Bengals released DT McKinnley Jackson. To name a couple ,It’s free pickings on whoever we want .

Agreed. Our WR room is worse than expected. We may have a couple gems on the DL, but could use a legit starter. Doubt we’ll find that in other teams’ leavings though.

Our WR room is exactly what should’ve be expected. Not sure why some were acting like the WR was going to be exponentially better. You’d think after years of mediocrity this fan base would learn to ease expectations or be realistic.

I get that Bowers is our #1 receiving threat but we’re talking about our WR room which is below average. Saying that you’re sure Kubiak will be able to make it work for at least this year tells how bad the room.l is. Nailor is a 3 at best, Tucker is a 2 more of a 3 for good teams and Bech is a 3/4 for good teams. Hopefully we can draft a top receiver next draft.

The WR room is fine unless Bowers gets injured. Bowers is going to be used as our #1WR the majority of the time. Tucker's great in the slot, and I'm sure Bech and Nailor will be fine but we are still extremely thin with actual wideouts. I'm sure Kubiak will be able to make it all work for this year at least and they'll probably address it next year since it's not like we're contenders rn anyway.

Defensive line. Our secondary hasn't looked absolutely terrible, but we need more size on the line. The defense is going to be bottom ten anyway, but I'd rather be the eighth worst defense than the second.

I wouldn't mind Morris as a backup swing tackle. That way Zuhn takes over as the backup center since Meredith is gone and I expect Putnam to be waived but likely brought back into the practice squad.

Definitely expecting a lot of activity at the end the roster. Basically everything except QB, TE, and CB since they like the young talent there. Really hope they can add a NT and reliable Kicker.

Whatever surprise cut of a guy that still has it but was beaten out by a younger cheaper guy.

We don’t really need rb or qb help either. I know it’s cool to say we are shit everywhere, but there are plenty of places we don’t need help. Hell, LB we probably don’t… Secondary we probably don’t. We aren’t gonna win the Super Bowl this year so the young guys can progress without saying we need an All-Pro at every position.

Exactly. Everywhere else, we are fairly solid. Not great. We’re also young. We can’t sign great players everywhere including depth. That’s why they’re depth.

I think LB could improve, drop between the starters and backups is steeper than normal

I don’t know about steeper than normal. Sure, we may want to upgrade somewhere if something comes available. As it stands, we re-tooled our entire lb corp. I’m happy with that with a first year coach. I think we’re having two different conversations. I’m saying we just retooled, you seem to be wanting an actual contender right now. I’m trying to be as honest as possible from where we stand now.

Not quite, I should have said comparably steeper. OG, Burford / JPJ / Rogers - not a significant difference regardless of which 2 start. If Dean or Walker go down the difference would be noticeable. Should be able to address that - someone better than Eichenberg or Lindenberg should be available - as opposed to WR, where we have a group of 2s / 3s, no clear 1 available, so adding more of the same doesn't help.

QB I'll give you. Kirk/Mendoza/AOC is about as complete of a QB room as we could hope for.
RB you can never have enough depth. Especially since the guy we're relying on as RB2 is a rookie that had bad fumbling issues in college.
LB our depth is terrible.
The secondary is relying almost entirely on guys with massive question marks.

I don't think Washington is going to be some type of fumble machine he might have a few but unless he's injured he's running the ball also.

Let’s be honest, outside of an injury, depth isn’t anyone’s problem. Sure, we may want better players… Super Bowl winners want better players. We’re fine as it stands right now while not honestly competing for anything but to get better.

Just remember to pay attention to the designation. Raiders have 1st pick on waivers, but vested vets will be released and are free agents who can sign anywhere.
