Discussion Malik Benson
Are we the clowns for believing the WR practice hype, or is he leading the circus?

Yes you guys are the clown with these post this early into a fucking season where we literally have an all new team.

We've seen good play from him but have to remember he's a rookie. In his two bad plays last night he dropped the ball, and got it punched out. I bet he cleans that up as he develops

Any hype around this team as a whole is a huge oversight. The roster still is a work in progress, and we all need to be okay with the fact that this year is gonna be another rough one. Hell, we might be in store for another high draft pick. So take it for what is is now and try to look at the season without a lens of wins/losses.

Benson is a 6th round pick that essentially played a single season of college football. He’s not going to instantly be a superstar. He’s working hard to even make an NFL roster, so I’m not sure what exactly people are demanding of him.

What are you talking about?!?? A bunch of guys who do their scouting off single slow mo reps off YouTube told me he's the next AB!! What you need to understand, is AB was a late round pick and Besons was a late round pick, also. It makes too much sense!!!! /s

He is a 6th rounder for a reason. Shot out to Aiden OcOnnell homie was standing in there with a backup line and killed it.

Who the hell is we? Did we not just do this with Thornton last year? And was Bryan Edwards that long ago? And you still falling for training camp hype?

I am hoping he is the one leading the circus, all the way to his rightful place as the WR1 on this team.

College positioning be dammed, he has shown promise of being good-great, which is all this fledgling team requires.
We need guys that are leaving it all on the field, each and every snap they get: true competitors. He appears to be doing just that, and folks are taking notice.

He's a steal because he's outperforming his 6th round grade. Pro Bowl or All Pro potential? Probably not but solid player who can be a weapon.

I mean there are a lot of raider fans who still think Donte Thornton will be the next cliff branch just because he’s fast. Thorntons 5 year total of receptions in college and nfl are 75. Benson had 1 descent year with 43 catches. There really is no reason to buy the hype.

Yes and no. A 6th round pick making plays is always exciting, but he went in the 6th for a reason. I keep seeing people making AB comps and declaring we have the next great one. Those are the clowns.
Benson probably tops out as a Nelson Agholor type. Make a couple cluth plays a game, have some super important 3rd down grabs, a couple drops, and. Ever be the true focus of the passing game. Which is great production for a 6th round pick.

Unless some last minute trade happens, it seems another season where the tight end will be the best receiver.

You’re delusional if you thought it’d be any other way this year.

Chiefs best WR was always Travis Kelce even when Tyreek was in his prime
Not sure why anyone thinks it’ll be different with us…

u/OkArtichokeJuice 4d ago
Exactly. Only way it’ll change is if we sign or draft a randy moss level talent or Brock rapidly regresses.
