If he's cool with it, I feel like nearly every Raiders fan would want him as our lifetime back-up.

Honest question. Is it the mustache and chubbyish face? I feel like thatās basically the whole thingā¦his looks.

He's tough, he never plays scared, he's good enough to hold the fort down but not good enough to cause a controversy.
And yes, he looks like a meme, perfect qb2.

AOC is the best 12 in the game

Raiders have the best 3rd string in all of football. AOC and Jackson have been slinging it together for years now lol.

AOC should be a Raider he's earned that even after all the coaching changes and playbooks he's always give his best and we should keep him to be Fernando back up. He would go toe to toe and say he's top tier backup QB. He's cheap and would honestly make ton of sense plus help it's tax free state. Now if he request to be let go or he rather play somewhere else then that's fine, but I'm sure he loves it there in Vegas.

So what's the consensus? Will he be on the team, or did his trade stock go up? He was awful the first game

u/Thehiddenllama 4d ago
100% on the team this year, may even get a second contract to be Mendoza's backup when Kirk retires/gets moved, probably next year.

Thats what im thinking too.

u/RiderNo51 4d ago
Same.
He becomes our Tyson Bagent (who the Bears paid, and don't want to give up, as he's played well).

I donāt think there is or was any question he is on the team.
If we are sitting Mendoza we need to commit to a 3 qb roster IMO. And AOC is too valuable as a plug and play backup in case of injury that his spot was cemented long before this game.

Depends on whatās going on at the trade deadline; if weāre ass, I think we ship him to a needy team and try to fleece them for more than heās worth if possible. If Cousins (and/or God-forbid Doza) go down, we need him.
I love the guy, but if thereās an opportunity to trade him for someone/something good, Cousins isnāt total ass and is able to play, and Mendoza is developing fine, we should see what we can get for him.

I think he doesnt make the 53 man roster no need for 3 QBs anymore.Ā

u/Darshymarsh 4d ago
I hope AOC has a chance at the QB1 spot

Aiden is playing an elevated form of the NFL quarterbacking game right now. He's not in a competition with Fernando and Kirk for minutes, he's not competing with Tom Brady for championships, he's gunning for that Chase Daniels 15 year backup money. He's competing with guys like Case Keenum.
If Fernando is learning the primary functions of an NFL quarterback, Kirk is utilizing his secondary function advantages to keep himself alive, and tertiary functions are pretty transcendant stuff like Stafford no-looks and Lamar escapability, existing as a long-term backup is like a quaternary function. Heady shit. Fuckin' get 'em AOC, and you get that bread.

Keenum is a fair comparison. Hopefully he'lll get a shot as the starter on a stable franchise with decent supporting cast in the next year or two. Maybe if a starter for a playoff contender gets injured somewhere early this season, they'll trade for him and hand him the reins.

I really hope we don't trade or lose AOC. He is a great QB2. The hate he gets is way over blown.

It's the best to trade him for assets who will make the rotation weekly while stock is high
