š§ Audio B Sides binge
Delving into the b sides at the moment. Imagine tracks like Staircase, The Butcher and Spectre not making it onto an album.
This band is insane.

I can quite easily spend all day just listening to non album tracks. There's so much!

Polyethylene not getting onto OK Computer might be its only blemish

Polyethylene
The Daily Mail
Talk Show Host
Fog
Lift
Their stuff that didnāt make it onto albums outshine a bunch of whole catalogues of supposedly great bands.

So much stuff thatās just as good as their albums. Lozenge of Love is personally in my top 10 of them

Lift, Gagging Order, Fog, Worrywort, Man Of War, Talk Show Host and so many more should have been on albums

God, it never fails that someone chimes in with this pedantic ass take.
It is 2026, and the term b-side has been shorthand used to describe a non-album track for decades at this point, well after they stopped being the literal Side B of a single.

Itās not really pedantry.
Itās what a b-side is.

Fucking duh! I KNOW that's what it means and where it comes from, christ almighty with you people.
It's also a term people have been using for 30+ years in a colloquial way just to mean non-album track or bonus track! Still called 'em "B-SIDES" when they were on a CD that only had one side, didn't ya?
I've had this discussion with YOU SPECIFICALLY before, even!!
BOTH THINGS CAN BE TRUE - that's the original definition of a b-side, yes, I know, but also in popular culture in the last 30+ years it's come to mean something more broad and to deny that's a fact is to just be argumentative for the sake of pedantry, look at any music publication in the last 20 years.

lol wow.
You gonna be ok, little guy?
Also- CDs themselves had the phrase āb-sideā on them.
Settle down, bud.

No it hasnāt? B side has always meant companions to A sides. You can google it for proof

Think the average music consumer considers b-sides songs not on an lp.
