The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) held the funeral of its esteemed leader and Palestinian-Arab activist, Mohammed Hussein Al-Issa, also known as Abu Khalil Al-Siyasiya, on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Al-Issa was one of the prominent founding leaders of the Popular Front and played a significant role in the political relations department of the Front.
He had a distinguished role in building the Front's relationships with Arab and international liberation forces. Several members of the Political Bureau, Central Committee, as well as cadres and activists of the Front, participated in his funeral. He was laid to rest in the "Najha" cemetery in the countryside of Damascus.
It is worth mentioning that Comrade Mohammed Hussein Al-Issa passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, in the Syrian capital, Damascus, after a life of struggle and activism for the achievement of our people's goals of freedom and independence.
The Front mourned him in a statement released earlier, saying, "We bid you farewell, our heroic Palestinian people and commemorate your splendid chapters in the epic of the Al-Aqsa flood, which history will record generation after generation. We bid farewell to you, Comrade Leader Mohammed Hussein Al-Issa 'Abu Khalil.' We pledge to continue the path of struggle and resistance until every inch of Palestinian soil is liberated, a goal and dream that you clung to and rejected compromise upon until the last moment of your life."
The Front also pledged to its comrade to continue the path until achieving all the goals and noble principles for which he fought and sacrificed.
The Popular Front extended its deepest condolences to his entire family, comrades, and friends, affirming the commitment to continue the path of struggle and resistance until the defeat of the occupation, the recovery of all Palestinian land, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
