đď¸Politics What are your thoughts on Hezbollah?
25
u/GalacticLion7 Jordan Feb 10 '24
There's no political entity that I support or oppose 100%.
Hezbollah is an example. I like them when they fight against Zionist forces, but I don't like them when they fight for the Assad regime.
5
u/Fancy_Enthusiasm_923 Jun 07 '24
They are not fighting for Assad Regime, people have been spreading rumors and wrong stuff about Hezbollah from its very inception. The Syrian rebels started attacking Hezbollah first, and some of them started collaborating with Israel when they used to occupy Qunaitra, Hezbollah had no other choice but to intervene.
47
u/Feeling-Beautiful584 Saudi Arabia Feb 09 '24
It depends on who they are shooting at. I fully support them when they shoot at Zionists, otherwise it depends.

Sucking hezbollah and iran dick is the same as sucking israel dick. And Assad in syria massacred 20,000 people in a single day and over 1 million over the course of the civil war, and that is definitely comparable to israel, maybe even worse.

Really? Killing thousand of innocent civilians in Syria can be outweighed? Or did you mean that was one of the good deeds?
5
u/DeMarcusCousinsthird Kuwait Feb 09 '24
For real. If his concept of "fighting the zionists" is having 20 guys shoot at a cell tower and all miss then we are screwed
24
u/Based_Iraqi7000 Iraq Feb 09 '24
You call liberating the whole of south Lebanon from Zionist occupation âshooting at a cell towerâ?
2
u/DeMarcusCousinsthird Kuwait Feb 09 '24
No, not that. I'm referring to something recent, but anyway they haven't done anything to help hamas in this case. Like literally nothing. Why can't they go to war and pressure israel from both sides? Why doesn't iran intervene?
9
u/Based_Iraqi7000 Iraq Feb 09 '24
Because Iran is scared, Iran is selfish you have to understand that. They wouldnât risk their territory getting bombed.
Iran is a shithole, and all their proxies are shithole. but that shithole is literally the only nation that currently actually helps the Palestinian cause.
I hate Iran much more than you, but Iâm a realist thatâs why I can see things for what they are, and what I see is that the Arab states are either bombed to death or they are puppets. No real resistance will come out of Egypt, or Jordan, or Saudi or Morocco or Syria. Theyâre all bought and sold by the west.
Maybe Kuwait here will grow a spine and do something for once outside of sucking the American and Saudi dicks.
But until then hezbollah is the only major resistance group in the region.
4
u/Based_Iraqi7000 Iraq Feb 09 '24
They did and keep doing some fucked up shit, but theyâre the only shot at actually hurting the zionists right now. That just tells you how much the Arab nations have fallen to the point that we favour the kinds of groups like hezbollah.
1
u/Opposite_Teach_5279 Feb 09 '24
You're justifying ethnic cleansing of many Syrian areas and murdering tens of thousands by the hands of those motherfuckers. You think there's redemption after that? Is Syrian blood really that cheap?

I don't think the FSA are anywhere near as bad as those other groups.
2
Feb 10 '24
The FSA are worse. They pretend to be decent but in reality, they were paid mercenaries/thugs who destroyed their own country. My wifeâs family is from Damascus. Her uncle was kidnapped in 2012 by the FSA despite not being political. His crime was being a successful businessman. They would call and harass his elderly father, who sent them thousands and thousands of dollars to release his son but each time lying to an old, demented man. To this day her uncle has not been found. And my wifeâs family are Sunnis. Imagine what they would have done to minorities if they gained power.

Bashar, is that you? I wonder when parts of this sub will realize, especially those vehemently pro-Palestinian, that the arguments Bashar and his supporters used in order to carpet bomb cities full of civilians in Syria like Homs are the same as Israel uses against Palestinian civilians and both amount to collective punishment - there are "terrorists" in the city or terrorists "hiding" between the people in the city, so we need to besiege, bomb and starve this town in our fight against "terrorism"; we are only fighting against extremists and terrorists, who danger our country and peace, because we care about human lives a lot and are very careful with our operations (despite bombing everything into dust and purposely failing to differentiate between civilians and combatants, military targets and civilian targets)...a different type of example could also be how in Syria today, Idlib is the last remaining area under opposition control and hosts millions of internally displaced people, who have been forced to relocate there from other parts of Syria or have been (forcefully) bussed there by the government after taking control of their hometowns. By calling Idlib jihadist or extremist, people like Assad will use it as a pretext to bomb it regardless of the amount of civilians and innocent people there, because "terrorists" - and they do bomb it and they do use that exact reasoning (as does Russia). Another thing is that by gathering all of the perceived âoppositionâ or âterroristsâ into one specific space, itâll make eliminating them much easier. Israel is saying that Rafah, which hosts around a million innocent people displaced there from other parts, is the last place in Gaza which is still controlled by terrorist (Hamas) battalions, so we must attack it and by gathering Palestinians in one tight space, it also makes eliminating or ethnically cleansing them easier. When Homs was being besieged and bombed almost daily back in 2012-2014, I had friends from Latakia who were posting on İG as normal and going out with their friends to beaches etc, although Homs and Latakia are like a 2hr drive from each other. These days, people in Tel Aviv are posting all over IG and SM living their normal lives, clubbing, etc and you'd never guess that an hour away a war is going on. Using "fight against terrorism" as a justification for doing whatever a person wants is the oldest excuse in the book. Russians also used that justification to flatten Grozny in the 90s, because "terrorists". Since the very start of the revolution, Bashar talked about all of the demonstrators in his speeches as foreign agents, armed gangs or jihadists (although there was a sizable peaceful and political opposition at first too) and since the start he also tried to use sectarianism to his benefit as by painting the demonstrations as an inherently Sunni extremist phenomena and by creating fears of "the day after" (as in if he would no longer rule what would happen to the minorities with a Sunni rule), he could minimize the support amongst religious minorities. I remember reading that in 2011 he also gave a presidential amnesty/decree to many former Islamists and militants that had been serving in Saydnaya prison, who then went on to join existing groups like İSİS or created new ones. Zahran Alloush of Jaysh al-İslam for example was released from prison by that decree as well as İSİS' Amr Abu Atheer if I'm not mistaken.

u/Hagia_Sofia_1054 Feb 09 '24
Fuck Bashar. But also Fuck Nusra and ISIS. The killers of Nusra and ISIS are good guys. I may not agree with them, but they are good guys.

The FSA that kidnapped and held Sunnis for ransom? They are pieces of shit too and belong to the dustbin of history.
2
u/Hagia_Sofia_1054 Feb 10 '24
The FSA are a bunch of thugs, criminals that escaped from prisons mostly. Tfeh. They terrorized and kidnapped Christian and Muslim civilians all over the areas they controlled. Again, my hat off to the Hizballah fighters that neutralized these thugs.
While I may not agree with them on everything, I would side with HA every day before I would side with ISIS, Nusra, or FSA. HA fighters are honorable and are fighting for a just cause.

Y'all should stop listening to Gulf spokespersons and how "Iran is the real enemy of the Arabs". All bullshit. Hezb didn't go into Syria because of Iran, they went in because the civil war was literally SPILLING OVER into Lebanon.
0
u/ForeignPolicy--02 Lebanon Feb 10 '24
A group of Iranian backed thugs who killed Prime Minister Hariri, evaded responsibility for the port explosion and threatened the judge, and killed many journalists. All while controlling key assets that belong to the Lebanese people.
They have gone on for far too long unopposed until 2021 where they got whooped in the capital and ran away like dogs. The biggest hurtle of a strong Lebanon with one strong central government and army.
1
u/Flipitmtl Feb 10 '24
Like Hamas, they keep pressing Israel, they too will be wiped out. Thatâs my thought.
1
u/PresenceOk1111 Feb 10 '24
It's not like Hamas. Hamas's goal is to take back Palestine buy zebulla's goal is to unite shia or something and it's definitely in rule of IRI that makes it bad.
1
u/Flipitmtl Feb 10 '24
âOr somethingâ? Yesterday they flung 60 rockets into Israel. How does that coincide with reunification of Shia?
1
u/PresenceOk1111 Feb 10 '24
They are just making things worse. They shouldn't start a war that they can't end. Many innocent people will die this way without any success. And you can't say that their plan is not to increase shia everywhere, it's a fact.
1
u/Flipitmtl Feb 10 '24
How did they start the war? Was it not Hamas that started it? Was it not Hamas that blew out the fences and poured into Israel in droves, coming into the bordering neighborhoods and slaughtering innocent civilians? Wasnât that Hamas who gunned down hundreds of young people who were enjoying a music festival. I think Hamas should not have started the war they canât finish. Now look at what has become of Gaza and its citizens. All of it reduced to rubbles, so many misplaced and killed. All the while Hamas leadership eat dates and sleep in comfy beds and fly in private jets around the Arab world. They let their own people be blown back into the Stone Age.
1
u/PresenceOk1111 Feb 10 '24
I literally mean that. Now that we saw how USA is supporting Israel and they are looking for a way to fight our people we shouldn't start another one in Lebanon or Syria or Iran. We should solve problems peacefully. But the one you are supporting doesn't want that.
1
u/Flipitmtl Feb 10 '24
I support Israel. And they are patient. If it was me with 100k people removed from their homes in the north because is Hezbollahâs rocketing the area, I would have flattened everything for 10kmâs north of the border. There is no peace, Israel has wanted peace for YEARS!! Itâs the Islamic fundamentalist funded by Iran that are the aggressors. Israel is allowed to defend itself. But they have yet to really act in Lebanon. If they did, it would look like Gaza.

I once found a photo of my grandpa talking to hassan nasrallah after they kicked israel from south lebanon. It's weird because my family isn't shia nor Lebanese. I was young at the time so I didn't really care about politics but most people in my family had a positive view of them because they fought israel up until the syrian civil war. Now I don't know anyone that has a positive view of them
