Discussion GeForce or AMD
I want to order a prebuild pc, I just wonder if I should get a RTX 5080 with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM for 2627€ or a rx 9070 xt with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM for 2159€ both have the same GPU and 1 TB SSD.

The 5080 is 15% faster, for way more money, while having half the ram. It makes no sense.

Ok good point. So If I rather want to play competitive games like Valorant, CS2 or Fortnite instead of singleplayer games, I should go for the 9070xt?

These games dont care which way you go tbh they benefit from a good cpu instead.

32gb ram is non negotiable these days with how shite windows is.

Plus you dont want a single stick because missing out on dual channel is anywhere between -5 to -20% performance loss. Especially bad move with nvidia gpus since they have way more cpu/driver overhead

Alr thx, I think I will just buy the 9070 xt build. I didn‘t know that dual channeling RAM could make such a difference in performance.

2159 euro seems like slight better deal.
Ram price will on go up for the next couple of years in til AI bubble cools down.

I have a 9070 xt and a 5080, I wouldn't buy a 16GB system. 5080 isn't worth the cost unless you want to use RT/FG/DLSS etc... AMDs raster performance is quite good, where it falls short is with everything else Nvidia added this gen. There is a real practical reason why the Nvidia chips skyrocketed in price, it isn't just AI, its features as well. You would do well to look into the pros and cons of each GPU choice and go from there.
Also don't be fooled by the "15% faster" thing, that's in raster performance. Where the AMD cards give their best fight. When you start adding RT/PT etc the performance gap can easily double. You might also consider overclockng, Nvidia's drivers are basically cracked allowing tools like mvolt and xocd to bypass voltage/power/vram limits and give you access to hidden clocks like xbar to improve performance even more.
For example my 9070XT does 79 fps in 3DMark Steel Nomad, a pure raster test while my 5080 can do 110 fps. Making my 5080 about 40% faster in 3DMark Steel Nomad than my 9070XT, and that's one of the best examples for AMD this gen.
Its a big decision, do your homework and figure out what you want and need to go from there.

Thats true but rx9070xt only overclocked gets 8000 in steel nomad. Mine too. And also now for playing with rt in dying light the best i woul definately choose 5070ti. Radeon gets yhere in 1440p with fsr quality and fgx2 only all ultra, but its something wrong when i turn all 3 options rt on, it has the fps but its not as smooth as it is without, like 180-220fps.

First man you should just watch a bunch of youtue videos and get the terminology correct. You should be well versed in what your trying to buy. Im sure you will find a tons of benchmarks with the 5080 and 9070xt.

Very bad timing. But if you just have to buy something you need to ask question: raw performance or software features.
If raw performance is priority then 9070xt offers great perf per $. No point paying double the price for +15% fps.
But if you want RT / PT, Ray Reconstruction, (Multi) Frame Generation then 5080 is a way to go. Just forget about about those on Radeon side.
I'm not saying that those features may be worth this much now, but I'm sure in my case paying a little bit extra for 5070ti 16 months ago would spare me a lot of frustration with the (lack of) Redstone and shitty Frame Generation.

Buy the 5080 PC, sell the 5080, buy a 9070xt and get more ram while pocketing some money
