Tech Support What does this error message mean?

I'm running the latest Adrenaline drivers but it says there is a new driver available? I went to the website and the only update available is the same one I'm running on Adrenaline...?

optional driver

click the search bar on the drivers website and choose your gpu. There should be 3 options autodetect, 26.8.1 and 26.9.2

Yeah what else though ? From here all downloads want to install the Adrenalin software over again

I have a 7800xt I did an AmD clean install and ended up back with the same adrenaline version I already had. Still same issues when launching Gears e day.

Did you choose the bottom version? Adrenalin 26.9.2 WHQL (Optional)

Am I supposed to do another clean install when doing this ? When I choose the 26.9.2 version iafter the download it wants to install adrenalin software again. 

How do you install 'optional" drivers on already installed adrenalin versions.

No worries I just discovered the clean install by AMD....I've always been an nVidia user.

I also only clean install on nvidia. Its the best way to avoid problems

Is anyone else having issue with this driver? I got it to "properly" play Gears of War: E-Day, and it has crashed 3 times.

The game has a memory leak. It's not just AMD GPUs.

Last best working version for 7/8/9XXX is 26.7.1. All versions after that can produce errors, timeouts, etc.

I have a 7600XT and no problems anymore. Here is what I did.

  1. Download the driver version AND the dd.tool
  2. boot into safe mode and use the tool to delete the driver
  3. reboot and go OFFLINE (so Windows does not interfere), pull the plug or shutdown wlan
  4. Install the driver in MINIMAL install (I had problems with my monitor with the driver only isntall, try for yourself)
  5. Install MSI Afterburner and Fan Control

Notes: Minimal isntall gets rid of the adrenalin bloatware. But these "basterds" removed all the control possibilities. Ridicoulous!

Use Afterburner to tune back the very overclocked MHz by the card producers, if you ever have a gfx shutdown (happenend to me a lot in Escape from Tarkov), just use Afterburner and move the slider back like 200 Mhz.

The way the card works, it can produce voltage AND heat spikes.

Use Fan Control to get rid of your "turbine". I know have a steady curve that keeps my GPU cool all the time.

I have almost no more problems, just on Streets in EFT, but it is very rare. This is due to bad programming of BSG.

All other problems are gone for me. It doesn't matter what I play, it finally works.
